Look, I posted a few replies yesterday, and I gotta apologize for
posting em without posting an intro, too, but my stupid computer reset,
and for some reason all the posts but two (this one and another reply)
were sent. Anyway, my name is Flame. I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE Star Wars,
although I have to admit I cheered for the Dark Side since the first
time I saw it as a child ;). No, I didn't see it in the theaters,
although I was born in 77 (and LOVE to be able to claim it as my birth
year :)). My parents aren't fans at all, so I had to wait until I was
somewhere else to watch it (and to this day, I can't remember where I
first saw it!) I wasn't a huge fan until college, though. I mean, I
knew the characters, and enjoyed them, but hadn't seen all the movies,
or even all of one. As soon as I saw them, though, I was hooked *g* And
I was ecstatic that my parents got the hint finally, and last Christmas,
not only did I get the new trilogy, BUT they also bought me the
soundtrack! :) Oh happy day! Anyway hmmm what else should I say. Oh
yeah, don't take my wiseacre mouth as a flame, if it's a flame you'll
know it! But I have a tendency to state what's on my mind without
thinking what it might get me into ;) As you can probably tell, I talk
a lot too *g* I am 20, don't yet have a steady job (sniffle sob), live
in British Columbia, Canada. What else do I love? Basically anything by
Steven Spielberg, or Jim Henson :) Yup, I'm a huge muppets fan! My
favorite movies of all time would have to be (besides Star Wars of
course ;) ) Sabrina (Harrison Ford Version), Labyrynth, Muppet Treasure
Island ("HOW does she DO that?"), AND (big drum roll) The Princess Bride
("Inconcievable!" "You keep on using that word. I do not think it means
what you think it means.")! I listen to mostly 80's music, a bit of
early 90's...my little sister asked once why I never listened to a
certain radio station anymore when we both used to...and I replied "You
know you're old when the music you love gets a special hour on the
radio, and you hate the rest." I like pop and light rock and, well,
what would you call it, not hard but medium rock *g*. Well now you all
know a bit about me *g* Probably more than you wanted to know, but like
I said, I talk a lot ;)
Oh, I should mention, I don't know much about Star Wars outside the
movies..I've never read any of the comics or books (although I picked up
one called 'Heir to the Empire' today, hope it's good!) but I just
happened to see a homepage mention this newsgroup (I'm sorry, I can't
remember who's, all I remember is she did a lot of sketches in a few
mediums...pencil, watercolor, and so on...) and said she had designed a
t-shirt for it just for fun, and I liked the look of the discussions on
the t-shirt, so here I am! *g*
OK I'll stop talking now ;) Well, at least until my next post...

Are you meant to do this are you? It's news to me, anyway if this is so
then I suppose I should say HI too!
HI, my name is Camael (well not really but who's intereested in my real
name anyway? anyone? prob not)
I've only recently started becoming interested in Star Wars, oh sure I've
seen all the films, multiplw times over. But it's only recently mainly
because of two good friends that I began to understand the love, and
obsession they felt for Star Wars.
Since I've started reading the books from the beginning through (the
beginning chronologically not by publishing) so I started with the han
Solo Trilogy by Ann Crispin. I have plenty more books here to read (being
a slow reader) including "Heir to the Empire" "Tales from Mos Eisley
Cantina" "Shadows of the Empire" I've read a few of the comics aswell
"Golden Age of the Sith" "Freedon Nadd Uprising" "Dark Empire" "Dark Lords
of the Sith" I'll get there eventually, as my friend keeps collecting them
as I speak, so I have no problem obtaining them, I also discuss SW with
him, who is bund by the Title of SW fanatic, and I would think anyone here
would have trouble picking fault in his knowledge, I haven't found a thing
he doesn't know so far.
Infact if anyone wants too find out what he knows give me some hard
questions and I'll put them to him.
But I myself am not a great knowledge and don't petend to be, so if I ever
make a statement which is way off, ludicruous or just plain offensive in
its stupidity please forgive me, and inform me of my mistake.
We are infact trying to make a Star Wars Encyclopaedia (digital) I'm
taking the role as arts advisor, and my mate Rendav (not his real name
either) is programmer. We don't know how long it'll take us or how
successful it'll turn out in the end, but I'll keep anyone who's
interested updated. We are hoping for miracles, and if anyone has any
input we appreciate it. Every now and then I'll pose a question to you all
about something to do with the program.
At the moment we are thinking of structuring it as a computer console from
Star wars accessing a data net or something similiar, you'll be able to
access star charts (something anyone can help with if they have ideas)
zoom in on planets and their data, native lifeforms, habits, etc.
(information taken from SW texts) chronology of Jedi's, and the Rebel
movement.
Anyway a heap of things, We hope it'll be the most detailed and immersed
thing we can do. But unless we can work out a way to show Lucasfilm. It'll
probably be for personally use and other people who ask for it.
Who knows the whole thing could just fall apart if we can't make something
of it.
Anyway I'll post part of this message under another header to try and get
more attention to the part about the program.
Until next time I'm about or when I get mail from you I'll say
seeya.

It's nice when folks do, but it is far from a requirement or even a
recommendation.

There are ways of finding out anyway. ;)

Good luck and keep us abreast of its development.

Wow. An intro. Maybe I should have done one all those years ago?
Nah.

Most of us here do too, but there are one or two who don't.

Great, someone for Lord Trory and C`Ewok to play with.

Probably the second most popular film here.

Um, you could say that popular sentiment here agrees that it is well
worth the read. Some think that Zahn is a writing god in the SW
universe, but I digress.

Sk8r is pleased to see that when she is 20(going by the fact you were born in
1977) she will still like the Muppets. Sk8r misses Jim Henson.
