I just saw a collection of micro-machines (number X) that has the LARS
FAMILY LANDSPEEDER in it. Was this in the movie anywhere? Who is the LARS
family?

This has been bugging me for years....Can ANYONE tell me why one of C3PO's
leg's is silver? I'm assuming it's from a war or something but I've never found
a real answer.

Let's see... That would be Owen and Beru Lars. You can see the speeder in
ANH when Luke confronts C3PO after R2 runs away; 3PO is standing behind
the family speeder.

Oh my goodness gracious! Can we actually have a SW fan that has not heard
of Owen and Beru Lars? Luke's foster parents! Or perhaps its just easy to
forget without the Owen or Beru attached to it. Hmmm....<G>

I don't remember how it happened, but the story appears in one of the
Droids comics.

I thought he got it after being chopped up on Cloud City. Chewie just grabbed
whatever was available in the melting room, and one of his legs had already met its
doom.

Just a thought,

In the Droids comics, Threepio's leg is wired with a bomb and he
unwittingly is recruited to go directly to someone and the leg will
explode and kill this person. Artoo rescues him and uses the lower
leg of a rogue Protocol droid to replace the one with the bomb in it
and they escape safely.

It has been a while since I have read the comics so if this is way
off, someone please correct it.

Owen and Beru Lars...y'know...Uncle Owen...Aunt Beru? it's the landspeeder in
the background of the shop that Luke worked on R2-D2 on Tatooine.

The Star Wars Technical Journal says:
"His [C3P0's] gold-plated finish is not as worn as would be expected
considering all he has been through, but a few salvaged, silverplated body
shell replacements betray his active history. A proven model, C3P0 was
manufactured more than 112 years ago..."

Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru were the Lars. You can catch a glimpse of their
speeder in ANH (and I mean a glimpse) when Luke is cleaning the droids.

knowing this didn't help...

amount to anything and you can't do a thing to change that.
