Pronunciation of Coruscant
Ken Sosnowski
In the TIE Fighter CD-Rom game, there is a cutscene (I'm not sure which
battle) in which Admiral Thrawn tells someone "Prepare to leave for
Coruscant".
The way he pronounced it was CORE-UH-SCANT with the accent on CORE. That's
the way I say it now. If anyone is interested, I can extract it from the
game and post it (is that legal?). LMK.

I don't know, but the way I pronounce it is QUEUE-ROSS-CANT. It's just a
guess. Perhaps anyone can verify the correct pronunciation?

This makes no sense to me at all. It doesn't even look close to that
phonetic pronounciation.

Actually, Coruscant is a real word. Coruscate means to glisten or
shine like a jewel. "Coruscant" literally means "glistening."
BTW, in the dictionary it's pronounced like it looks, and the S is
pronounced like an S usually is; the C's are pronunced like a K...

Lucas pronounces it CORE-UH-SANT (no c sound in the last syllable). The way
it was pronounced in TIE Fighter is now considered wrong.
