It's no real surprise (in fact it was {beep}ingly obvious!), but this
is from ComingSoon.net ...

George Lucas on a Fifth Indiana Jones
-------------------------------------
Fox News' Roger Friedman caught up with George Lucas at
the Cannes Film Festival who revealed there's more than
a strong possibility there will be a fifth "Indiana
Jones" movie.

He says that he and director Steven Spielberg have left
the door open for a sequel to Indiana Jones and the
Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

"I haven't even told Steven or Harrison this," he told
Friedman. "But I have an idea to make Shia [LaBeouf]
the lead character next time and have Harrison [Ford]
come back like Sean Connery did in the last movie.
I can see it working out.

I've always heard that so long as the scripts were good and the stories were
fesible, Ford would keep on playing Indy. IJ 5 not out of the question,
although is HAS be 19 years between III and IV

We have had the TV show "Young Indiana", but that was based around Indy
himself as a kid and late teens / early 20s.

The Indiana Jones 5 movie, if they decide to make one, would be a
sequel to the four existing movies and based around Shia La Beouf's
character as the next generation, with Harrison Ford making basically a
cameo / guest star appearance (like Sean Connery did in the third
movie). If the franchise continued further, then Harrison would
probably not appear at all, at some stage, leaving the franchise to the
"new Indy".

Unless, of course, there's a (and I can't believe I'm saying this) it's a
REBOOT and start over. Just leave that damn JarJar Binks out of it.

Thankfully it can't be a silly "reboot". George Lucas has already said
that Harrison Ford's Indiana Jones would probably be in any Indy 5
movie, but in a similar way to Sean Connery in Indy 3, ie. secondary to
the main character.

Jar Jar Binks is in Indy 6 due in 2015. ;-)

I actually see great potential for this. I expect it would go
something like this:

Shia creeps through the narrow passage tomb, carrying a torch. As he
steps next to a sarcophagus, the entrance, the floor tile under his
foot gives a little, triggering a mechanism that closes the only
passage into the tomb. Grimly, he turns around to look at the
sarcophagus, we see in the flickering light an electronic mechanism
with slight blinking lights and a lever. The top of the sarcophagus
depicts an odd, bug-eyed figure with a large tongue sticking out.
Sucking in a deep breath, Shia pulls the lever of the mechanism. The
lights flash rapidly and the top of the sarcophagus turns a bright
white for a moment, before seeming to fade away. Suddenly, the figure
atop the sarcophagus comes alive, saying "You save me. Mesa yousa
humble servent. Mesa Jar Jar Binks. Mesa love you!"
Realizing that he is now trapped with the creature for eternity, Shia
screams.

At that moment there's movement in the corner of the tomb...
A round barrel shaped object shakes to the point that the top section comes
off. Through a haze of smoke, steam & strange green light, a figure begins
to rise from the depths of the object. Shia can only stand there, shaking
in his boots, unable to hold his torch steady, uncertain of what is before
him. Eventually, at the smoke begins to dissipate, the green lighted figure
becomes clear. Shia stands there agog at the awe inspiring figure of ...
Oscar the Grouch. In a moment, there's music, then Oscar, Shia, Jar Jar
break into the Grouch's trademark song "I Love Trash". Which sets the tone
for the rest of the movie.
