George Lucas- yes, that George Lucas- will be making a public
appearance at the world premiere of a documentary on San Francisco Bay
Area filmmakers at the 50th Annual San Francisco International Film
Festival.

SFIFF50 SCREENS WORLD PREMIERE OF FOG CITY MAVERICKS
On April 29 at the Castro Theatre, SFIFF50 will present the world
premiere of Gary Leva's documentary Fog City Mavericks about the Bay
Area's rich film history. Dominic Angerame, Peter Coyote, Peter
Docter, Phil Kaufman, John Korty, George Lucas, Andrew Stanton,
Matthew Robbins, Saul Zaentz and other Mavericks will be in
attendance. The film explores the way in which these filmmakers' lives
and work mirror the spirit of invention and independence that makes
the Bay Area such a unique cultural and artistic community. Tickets
to this event are on sale now to Film Society members with valid
memberships, and go on sale to the general public starting April 5th.
