Once again, somebody enters a contest for the sole purpose of selling
the prize...
If it meant SO little to you that you forgot you entered it, you

Thank you, gentlemen, for your helpful and enlightening responses.
I know this isn't a quote from a fictional mystic, so it may go over
your heads, but my mother told me, "If you can't say anything nice,
don't say anything at all."
I entered the competition because the item was described as a card
holder; I presumed they meant playing cards (which would have been very
useful to me), rather than calling cards (which isn't).
I enter competitions as a hobby, if the prize interests me. I don't
enter if I think the prize is not of interest to me. In this case, the
description given by the competition organizer was vague, and led to my
obtaining an object which I do not want.
Since I have an object which I do not want, I am looking for some
advice on how to price it when it gets placed on e-bay, perhaps so I
can avoid being scammed by a dealer, as opposed to a heartfelt
collector; a category I'm sure you feel yourselves qualified to be
classed in.
If you're so offended by this attitude of accquiring objects in order
to sell them, you'll surely never have participated in such a base
display of capitalism, and were around Seattle on Tuesday with teh rest
of them.

If you think you deserve this more than me, e-mail me with your reasons.
The person who mails me with the best reason before 1/1/00 can have it
for $15 (the price of a non-sw metallic card holder) plus P&P.

So I'm guessing that I would not be eligible for your contest.............Good

You have to understand that many of the people who use this newsgroup DO have
a genuine interest in Star Wars merchandise as collectors. There are also a
lot of others who are only interested in:
A. Selling said merchandise to us at outrageous prices
B. Finding out what kind of outrageous prices they can charge for said
merchandise (I.E. How much is this worth posts.)
If you've been reading this groups for a while, which you haven't, you'd know
better. Your posting history on this group amounts to your one plea for price
information and your total Newsgroup history stretches all the way back to
10-06-99. Your post definitly came off as B. and this line which you wrote in
your thrilling follow up:

Which I assume is a reference to the rioting in Seattle surrounding the WTO
meeting. Nice use of current events, well done. How that releates to you I have
no idea, though it speaks volumes about your politics and feelings on free
