I'm not sure I know what movie you're referring to. I spent most of my
youth watching post-apocalyptic movies. It felt like they used to make 10 a
week in the 80s. And USA up all night showed them all. The only modern
faded color movies I can think of are

I remember seeing this trailer somewhere, and have also been wondering
what the title was. Wasn't it a Japanese film? There was no sound
until he takes off the mask, and then, you hear some kind of radio
broadcast briefly before he puts the mask back on, I think.
