"Blade II" - what's with Whistler?

[TRUTH]

I saw a trailer for Blade II and it had "Whistler" in it.
In upcomingmovies.com they said Blade saved him from vampirism.
I thought they made it pretty obvious that he killed himself.
Any ideas?

Okay. This is what goes on in the FINAL CUT of the movie.

The following is NOT a theory, NOT speculation.

Here we go.

Whistler shot himself while still a HUMAN, remember. HE HAD NOT YET TURNED.

Where did he shot himself?? No one saw. No one witnessed it. The silver
bullet went through him- As he lay dying (HUMAN)- He turned (into a VAMPIRE)
and was abdcuted by the HOUSE OF EREBUS. They kept him in suspended
animation in a vat of blood and tortured him brutally every now and then,
then gave him time to regenerate and go at it again!!! Blade has been
looking for him. That's the start of the movie. So, there, no need to
sopeculate any longer. The movie uses the first 10-15 minutes setting
Whistler back, but once he is back, that's it. Hes back. No zombie, no vamp,
just whistler.

Leaving in the Spoiler Space...

Here's what I was thinking. Remember the Doc came up with a "cure" that
would work on "non Pure Blood" Vampires. She made the offer to Frost to
cure him.

When I found out Whistler was back for the sequel, I just assumed that he
was too far gone for the bullet to kill him. So, since he would be alive as
a vampire, he would be her test subject to see if her formula could cure
non-pure Vamps.
