I just saw the international release version of "Starship Troopers"
(diastributed by Buena Vista International). I believe that the print is
identical to the R rated US version of that movie.
However I noticed that on my bootleg video tape (which can be ordered from
keith...@aol.com) there are several scenes that where not in the theatrical
version that I saw.
1) After the bug autopsy lesson at school there is a scene between Johnny and
carmen in a park (in front of a giant pyramid) in which he asks her why she did
not want to have sex with him and she replies that she wants it when the time
is right. He is actually massaging her breast during that scene.
2) In the aftermath of the failed Klendathu invasion Carmen checks out the KIA
list on the computer in the video version there is a scene following in which
she goes to her room and is crying. Zander follows her and they kiss. The
theatrical version cuts directly to Johnny in the medical tank.
3) After Dizzy dies the video shows a scene in which Carmen is dressing up for
Dizzy's funeral. Zander confronts her and asks her about her feelings for Rico.
She replies that she is unsure.
4) At the end after they captured the brain bug and Johnny congratulates Zim
for doing so there is a short scene in which Johnny and Carmen kiss on the
planet. The theatrical version cuts directly to the FedNet spot.
5) Also Carl's dialogue at the end is slightly different. In the video version
her refers to Zim as a cap trooper, while in the theatrical version he says
that Zim is a drill instructor (since Carl wasn't in Camp Currie it is unclear
how he knows of Zim's former rank). This probably was changed so that the (take
for stupid) audience would recognize Zim again easily.
Why these other scenes where cut is unclear to me. It might be running time
considerations (although they only make up for approximately 5 minutes
altogether).
These scenes are not an integral part of the storyline but I think they do a
good job of exploring the Johnny-Carmen-Zander triangle a bit more.
Those scenes might be back in the Director's Cut LaserDisc edition (if there
will be one) but I guess we will just have to wait and see.
Anwar
Carmen tested very poorly in the test screenings. The cuts in regards to
her were changed to make her look like less of a slutty bitch.

Hehehuh! Yeah, but did any of the cut scenes have her get nekad?
Also, of what picture quality is the bootleg version? How the hell can he
get this? And how much is he askin'? Thanks!
