If memory serves me right, my Deja News profile listed something like
6000 messages last week, and lists *137* messages right now. Has
someone retconned my reality, or has Deja changed something around
pretty dramatically?

Has anyone else noticed anything amiss with them?

They're rearranging their site. Among other things,
http://www.deja.com/info/site_move.shtml says:

Usenet messages - Between May 20 and May 26, messages posted 2 weeks to a year
ago will not be available. Starting May 4, many messages posted over two years
ago will not be accessible on a temporary basis, and after May 15, all messages
posted over a year ago will not be accessible on a temporary basis. We will be
taking this opportunity to reconfigure the service that provides messages
posted prior to May 1999. Therefore, these messages will not be accessible on
the site for some time, possibly a few months. Have no fear: We're committed
to bringing these messages back online as soon as possible.

Yes, I noticed pretty much exactly what you're seeing with my profile.

I did see a notice to the effect that they are moving servers, and
that strange things might happen. So perhaps it's all temporary.

May I ask whether the line break problem will be fixed any time
soon? By the line break problem, I mean when you're in the edit
mode, your paragraphs look even, but when posted, the line breaks
become erratic, making you look like a twit who doesn't know how
to use a carriage return.

If this problem alone were fixed, I'd be very very happy.

I guess they'll have to change the name to Jamais News.
