NEW LINE RECORDS RELEASES SOUNDTRACK FOR =93THE TIME TRAVELER=92S WIFE=94
Music from the Upcoming New Line Cinema Film Hits Digital Stores
August 11
BURBANK, CA, August 4, 2009 =96 New Line Records will release the
official soundtrack from the film =93The Time Traveler=92s Wife=94 via
digital download and Amazon.com=92s Disc On Demand program Tuesday,
August 11. The soundtrack=92s emotionally moving lineup features 23
tracks from the motion picture, which will be released in theatres
nationwide on Friday, August 14.
The soundtrack includes the memorable Lifehouse song =93Broken,=94
featured in the film=92s trailer, as well as a cover of Joy Division=92s
=93Love Will Tear Us Apart,=94 performed by Broken Social Scene whose
members (Kevin Drew, Brendan Canning, Justin Peroff, Andrew Whiteman)
make an appearance in the film as a wedding band. Rounding out the
soundtrack, the album includes 21 selections from the score composed
by Mychael Danna (=93Little Miss Sunshine,=94 =93(500) Days of Summer=94).
A perfect companion to the timeless love story, the motion picture
soundtrack will be available at all digital retailers on August 11.
=93The Time Traveler=92s Wife=94 is based on the best-selling book about a
love that transcends time. Clare (Rachel McAdams) has been in love
with Henry (Eric Bana) her entire life. She believes they are
destined to be together, even though she never knows when they will be
separated: Henry is a time traveler =97 cursed with a rare genetic
anomaly that causes him to live his life on a shifting timeline,
skipping back and forth through the years with no control. Despite
the fact that Henry=92s travels force them apart with no warning, Clare
desperately tries to build a life with her one true love.
=93The Time Traveler=92s Wife=94 was directed by Robert Schwentke
(=93Flightplan=94) from a screenplay by Academy Award=AE winner Bruce Joel
Rubin (=93Ghost=94), based on the novel by Audrey Niffenegger. Nick
Wechsler and Dede Gardner produced the film, with Brad Pitt, Richard
Brener, Michele Weiss and Justis Greene serving as executive
producers. The co-producer is Kristin Hahn.
Heading the film=92s cast as Clare and Henry are Rachel McAdams (=93Red
Eye,=94 =93The Notebook=94) and Eric Bana (=93Star Trek,=94 =93Munich=94). =
=93The
Time Traveler=92s Wife=94 also stars Arliss Howard, Ron Livingston and
Stephen Tobolowsky.
New Line Cinema presents, a Plan B/Nick Wechsler Production, a Robert
Schwentke Film, =93The Time Traveler=92s Wife.=94 The film has been rated
PG-13 by the MPAA for thematic elements, brief disturbing images,
nudity and sexuality. Opening in theaters on August 14, 2009, the
film will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros.
Entertainment Company.
