David Brin uses psychohistory more or less as
a stepping stone to the real robot drama ?
This is not doing justice to psychohistory !

I have always thought that the 2nd Foundation was the group most neglected
in the Foundation Series. How can U not dig Ommish (SP?) farmers living
amongst the bones of the former empire who have access to the prime radiant
and gnarly mental powers manipulating the Foundation to keep it from
wandering too far off of the path. If written the book should be called
simply Deviation Blue.

I think that the original trilogy was superior, and the subsequent
books by Asimov very good. I never felt the need to travel back to the
roots of psychohistory and because of that have never enjoyed the
newest books, though I have read some of them. That could just be me,
though. I thought it all became too "deep".
The Second Foundationers, by the way, were Hamish.
