EL CORAZON
----------
Life's most perfect bliss
Is when a bow is drawn
And the arrow does not go amiss.

Pricked by an electric kiss,
This enchanting itch lingers on
Even after the mosquito is gone.

(Please dart away ...)

* ok...here's a challenge for you: first, eliminate the words bliss &
electric - in lieu of that, think - where does an arrow live? what do lips do
in anticipation? Second, listen to the song "La Pistola y El Corazon" by Los
Lobos, and then refashion your poem. This doesn't necessarily have to
follow in a linear sense, of course. I'm guessing you're already familiar
with the song, but for others, here is an extract:

"Los besos que me diste mi amor | The kisses that you gave me my love
Son los que me estan matando | Are the ones that are killing me
Ya las lagrimas me estan secando | But my tears are now drying
Con mi pistola y mi corazon | With my pistol and my heart
Y aqui siempre paso la vida con | And here as always I spend my life
La pistola y el corazon." | With the pistol and the heart
