waiting at dawn,
back to a young oak,
the bark biting through
my shirt, feels
good 'gainst my back.
a glimmer, here and there.
i look up, it is nothing.
the stars still wandering,
sky still ruled by night,
twinkle of a distant light,
i lean back, arms reaching
in all directions.
stretching, ahhh so serene
a feeling.
another glimmer...
the edges of the sky,
fading as the wind,
a new light, coming
into this world.
stars dying in that
awful light.
black sky to blue,
another passing of the
torch.
the beams of light,
heralding the charioteer,
dance among the puffy
white clouds,
their song serenading
the world.
and at the last,
as the music
reaches crescendo,
He is come,
gleaming in the aura
of his Power. and
there is an explosion
gleaming light racing
from horizon to horizon,
the sound of the sunsong
dancing in the wind.
overwhelmed,
i look away,
and all is
silence...
