Let's Get This Show Back on the Road: AUK Award Nominations November 2011

When, in the course of Usenet events, it becomes clear that the once-
proud AUK Awards have long since been abandoned and their keepers have
scattered to the wind, it behooves us to take matters in our own hands
and declare independence.

There may be some who will dispute this. They are welcome to launch
awards of their own, at least once *snicker* they get the go-ahead
from their lawyers. May a thousand flowers bloom as kooks and
kookologists battle for control of the asylum which is AUK, and may we
see some truly entertaining net.nuttiness for a change.

That being said: ya can't have awards without nominations. And so I
turn to you, my adoring (and otherwise) public. Show us your kook-
spotting skills.

In the meantime, let's dust off these awards:

BOBO AWARD: The ultimate achievement in the Kook Arts. Given in
recognition of the lifetime work of those who rise above and beyond
the call of net.looniness, the Bobo is reserved for those whose sheer
quest at whatever it is they're pursuing knows Absolutely No Bounds,
whether they be global humiliation, jail time, even death. Several
Bobo honorees are, in fact, in jail or deceased. Think of it as the
Internet's version of the Darwin Award.

For losing his "kookpedia" website, tanking his family business and
paying a sizeable sum in legal fees for the privilege, let's give due
credit to:
