I am looking for a poem titled "self portrait" that would appear in the
current Norton Anthology. I do not know who wrote it. Any ideas?

There's more than one Norton Anthology. "Self Portrait in a Convex Mirror"
by John Ashbery?--SL

The usual tart advice would be go to a library or book store and look at
a current copy. *My* tart advice would be to start using Google, or another
web search engine of your choice. Queried with "norton poetry contents",
Google shows that the folks at W.W. Norton publish the contents of the
4th edition on-line. Within my browser, a control-f search for "self" led
to several entries. One was "Self-Portrait" by A. K. Ramanujan. Returning to
Google with the author and title yielded the following text, which may
or may not be what you seek, but meets your specification.

Self-Portrait
_________
I resemble everyone
but myself, and sometimes see
in shop-windows,
despite the well-known laws
of optics,
the portrait of a stranger,
date unknown,
often signed in a corner
by my father.

Dead-basic net searches give as good a result as this about half the time for me.
Your return address suggests that you have broadband net access. Why
not get off your hands and use it?
