Nicely done Rick, sometimes a bit fast for me to catch
the first time. But Firefox didn't like it at all, it
vanished when I tried to watch it. So, I loaded up
Seamonkey and that worked. If I make it through another
year, I'll try to do better.

The timing, I can work on (except the still of John P, which were supposed
to be subliminalish). It worked in *my* copy of Firefox, but that's not
really much help to anyone else. Doe it consistently not work in Firefox?

No, Bud. Webtv can't handle flash either not much good for fancy
computer thingies but quick and easy for email and our own news groups
(behind a firewall).

Over the 12 plus years I've been a webber, they've improved and down
graded our capabilities till we just cling to what we have and dread
the day when they "pull the plug". Microsoft bought this little gismo
and... heaven help us, you can imagine what they've done to it. Go buy
a computer, folks. That's what you -really- want, you know.

Rik, Webtv scrolls and can read a web page. I have one constructed on
Tripod, Katy's Kubicle kid friendly gifs stories and poems all by me...
well, the stories and poems are. The gifs are collected from other
webpages.

It's just that our browser is way behind in technology and MSN is not
going to waste time and money updating it any more. Our boxes are old
and no new ones are being built. It's a simple technology for simple
folks who just want to email, enjoy fellowship in news groups, and
wander the web as far as they're allowed.

Some times I can read articles y'all post and some times not. I can
usually gather from responses what they are about. I'm not always
interested (shocking, eh?) but I do greatly enjoy the friendly feeling
here and the delightful senses of humor that burst forth.

Maybe Ellen has further comments on our little black boxes.... Webtv
filled a need and it's SO easy and simple to use, isn't it Ellen?

As you read Rik, other's FF worked fine. If I were not
so lazy I'd install VLC and know it would work with any
format of video or sound. I could not understand why it
did not, as it worked fine with Seamonkey and it uses
gzine too. Ah well, I usually get things to work
eventually. Oh, even if I chose download it'd vanish.

It was really quirky for me in Firefox, so I downloaded it and
watched it in a separate program. It kept going to white, and I'd

I don't think it was the broadband. Did exactly the same to me in Firefox as
John says. Kept cuttting out and then stopping, had to play with scroll bar,
etc.... Tried it next in IE browser and that worked fine.

Finally ended up downloading and playing it in Windows Media, except I could
not pause it. Quirky.

Heh, sure was. He's 6.5 now and is currently constructing an elaborate lego
Star Wars spaceship of some kind. He's in first grade and reads on about a
third-grade level. Shocking, isn't it? ;)

Mitchy will get to meet him this summer--more details will follow, but I am
planning a 10-day(ish) trip to the UK in June. I owe Mitchy and Rik (and
