meh It won't kick him off my "must read" list, but I didn't enjoy it as
much as some other titles. My credulity was strained by the concept of a
sort of off the books, volunteer group working with an unauthorized variety
of witness protection.

Atkinson, on the other hand - Wow! _Life After Life_ has one main
character, and the chapters, as they proceed, are each a sort of capsule of
alternate history, each more or less standing on its own. Does she die or
not? Well, yes and no. Peripheal characters are all drawn very skillfully,
and Atkinson's signature unexpected laugh out loud moments are scattered
here and there.

I'm about 1/3 of the way through, and it's wonderful. A truly excellent
read

Perfect. Thanks, Woodstock. Just what I needed.
