Thanks MJ. Interesting stuff...

Insofaras the actual book is concerned, SILENCE rose rapidly in price
as a first edition. The rumour was that only 5,000 or so copies had
been printed in the first run. That seemed strage for Harris had
already scored with BLACK SUNDAY and RED DRAGON. Prices went up and
up.
I thought I was very forturnate for I seemed to find true firsts
frequently. In fact, six of them are now tucked away. However, the
rumour turned out to be false and now a first printing has dropped
considerably in value. Ah well, one day...
