Add to those two with the likes of Glenn Beck (and his "ilk") one
would wish that December 21, 2012 would hurry up. How much more of
this nonsense can we survive?
I did manage to watch a partial Larry King interview with ex-
California. I don't think she really understood his question.
"Inappropriate"? In what manner? A more interesting question is why
we would want to see her interviewed on any program. Do we get some
sort of sadistic glee in watching a known foolish person make an even
bigger fool of herself? I suppose.
As to the Palin book, I feel that there is no need to buy a copy,
certainly not to read it. Enough commentators have already torn much
of it apart. Certainly it seems that her version of reality is on a
par with that of the former Miss California. As Miss C forgets the
videos and other pics she willingly made, so Palis seems to ahve
fabricated her own view of the last presidential campaign. To think
that McCain actually picked her as a running mate defies all that once
seemed good about the man. He was willing to let this person be "one
heartbeat away" from holding the highest office?
That Palin and Prejean share certain views is rather telling. Yes,
those of us on the left of things have our own crosses to bear, but
really!
No way. I have some differences with Senator McCain, but he is
NOT STUPID.
He just caved in to his Committee that wanted to get the
rightwing nutcase vote, and they got it too, at the expense of
lots of others.

Kithrup is getting too damn much spam, even with the sysop's filters.
IIRC, don't think he'd ever actually met her or even knew about her before
his search committeee came up with her name.

Another fine example of outstanding Republican leadership. Meanwhile,
the loyal opposition, the Democrats, continue to snatch defeat from the
jaws of victory. What a pair of parties.

Indeed. He may have (or ay least heard of her, sort of) beforehand,
but he was never convincing in his statements that he knew her and
vetted her himself.
I, too, agree that he is NOT stupid. I kept waiting for his "choice"
to be justified, and even though she took more than her share of the
heat at times, she still never connected with reality.

I think I read someplace that McCain wanted Joe Lieberman on the ticket, but
his handlers/committee did not. With Lieberman, he might have had a chance.

Oh, I think the Repubs don't like him much and notice what he is doing
now--he ain't no Democrat. (The two-faced [insert bad word here])

One wonders how much of his angst against things Democrat (and others)
is due to sour grapes at his one moment in the spotlight w/ Gore.
One wonderful book - CRAPSHOOT. It tells the tale of each and every
VP over the centuries. Some very strange fellows.
