EYE surgery tomorrow for me *!*

Tomorrow at about dawn, I will be undergoing Cataract Surgery on my right
eye.
If all goes well, then in about another two weeks time I will have the same
thing done to my left eye.

Good luck. My mother and father both had to have that. It is a pain,
but the improvement you get is wonderful, so they told me.

It is SO much easier/neater/faster now than it was when my first
cataract "bloomed" in 1990. A dozen years later it was totally different
and back to normal in a fraction of the time. I'm sure all WILL go well

I hope it went well for you. I had no problem when I had mine done
several years ago and my eyes have been working great since then.
I got a pair of glasses when I got finished with them, and I am
still using the same ones. I go in every year for my annual eye
exam and there has not been enough change to make it worth getting
a new pair.

I don't wear them all the time, just for reading and working on the
computer. And for the computer I wear a pair of cheap reading
glasses instead of my prescription glasses. For that matter I
have a whole bunch of reading glasses scattered around so I can
find a pair when I need them and am not in the living room.

The biggest problem I had when I had the surgery was the seemingly
endless routine with eye drops for about a month.

A month from now you will be very pleased at how your eyes are operating.

I have had both done ... Out patient, piece of cake. ;-). You'll be
fine. My ophthalmologist chose new lenses so that together, they work
like perfect vision. One eye near sighted and one far sighted, and
the brain sorts it out and makes it work. I don't need glasses, and
have no driver license restrictions.

The biggest change I noted was how accurate colors were with the new
lenses! I had been working on choosing new paint and furnishings, and
thankfully waited until after the surgery to choose final colors,
because those cataracts really affected how I saw colors, especially
the whites and creams.

You won't feel a thing in your *eye*. I suffered with an itchy
nose (they wouldn't let me scratch it) and a very hard horizontal
ridge under my head (they wouldn't let me move).

Two weeks and I get my final follow-up and new glasses. Right
now I can't tell if the vision is any better in my eye or not.

Good luck. I had to have that surgery 35 years ago. It's a lot easier
surgery now than it was back then. Yours should go fine and you will be
surprised in the improvement in your vision. Be sure to follow the doctor's
orders and take it easy for as long as he says to.

With the first one of mine they said I was too young for an implant. They
hadn't been using them that long. The next year They decided to put an
implant in the other eye. It is so much better than having to wear a
contact like the first one.

Last year my eye doctor finally told me they had perfected a way to put an
implant in the eye they did first. I didn't have him do it then because I
was scheduled for my third major back surgery in August. I had to have
another back surgery in March this year. I have an appointment with the eye
doctor in late July and I'm going to have the implant put in then. It will
be great to get rid of the contact.

Yes, you have to make sure you are totally comfortable before they
start. They had my arms wrapped with my body, but I get
claustrophobic, so they allowed me to keep them on top the sheet.
