Near the close of the credits for "Schindler's List" the dedication
'For Steven Ross' appears. Anyone know who/why?

An extraordinary film. With all the junk lauded as 'entertainment and culture'
these days, the sold-out theatre crowds to see this movie give one a lot
of hope.

He was the head of Warner Brothers, and died last year. Spielberg admired
him, and gave his eulogy. Spielberg also showed home movies of Ross to
Liam Neeson to give him an idea of how to play the Schindler character,
according to a published report.

I'm not quite sure why Spielberg dedicated "Schindler's" to him but, the late
Steven Ross was the Chairman of the Board of Time Warner Inc. who recently died
of cancer. Must have had a pretty big influence on Spielberg.

Guy in charge of the studio Speilberg (SP) worked for. Steve and Steve were
very close friends.

Well, not exactly. Mr. Ross was in charge of Warner Bros., and Spielberg
spends almost all his work at Universal. A touching tribute, anyway.
