Jim Hutton (actor of the '60s) -- how did he die?

His movies that I remeber are "Green Berets", "Hellfighters",
"Major Dundee", and he did a TV series ("Ellery Queen" -- I think).

I had heard he had died suddenly in the late 60's or early 70's.
His son is Timothy Hutton, who started starring in his own movies
in the mid to late 80's.

I just wanted to know how he died (curiosity). I know James Dean
and the first captain of the Enterprise (Jeffrey Hunter) both died
in car accidents.

I had thought Jim Hutton died of a brain aneurysm...something sudden like
that..

Jim Hutton died of liver cancer or perhaps cirrhosis of the liver (you
don't have to be alcoholic to suffer from it), as I recall.

Jeffrey Hunter died of a brain injury following a fall down some stairs.
