Apollo 13 tecky guy from Gentle Ben?

Was the guy with the huge forehead in Apollo 13 the same actor that
played the kid in Gentle Ben? He was the guy from Houston that was
really helpful, didn't catch his name in the movie though.

If not, did he play in anything else?

Yep, that's the guy. He's Ron Howard's brother in real life which is why
he shows up somewhere in almost every movie Ron has directed.

Actually, in this movie Ron's mother also had a bit part. She played the
mother of one of the astronauts.

Yes - Clint Howard.

Yes - you can find him in small roles in everything directed by his
big brother, Ron, as well as in Rock 'n' Roll High School.

Yes, he is the kid from Gentle Ben. He's also the brother of Ron Howard
(Opie from The Andy Griffith Show, Richie Cunningham from Happy Days, and
the director of Apollo13). Ron's brother (whose first name escapes me)
guest starred in a memorable episode of the original Star Trek as a
supposedly formidable alien adversary and went on do parts in low budget
movies. He has the starring role as a psycho-killer in the current
video release The Ice Cream Man.

Yes. He is Clint Howard and I think is director Ron's brother.
He crops up a lot in small parts in Ron's films. A pathologist
in Backdraft springs to mind.
