A very young Christian Slater played her brother on the film, so perhaps
they are related?
Has she been in anything since?

I saw a preview for Lassie this last weeked and she'll be playing the Mom.

Helen Slater is NOT related to Christian Slater. Christian Slater IS the
son of casting person Mary Jo Slater.
For Helen Slater's best nude scene so far, go to your video store and rent
"House in the Hills."

THAT explains the incredibly gratuitous and pointless `cameo'
Christian had in Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country. The novelisation
had Janice Rand in that scene (waking up Capt. Sulu), which actually was
significant, and advanced the plot. I guess Christian said, "Maaaaaa ... it
would be really cool to be in a Star Trek movie!", in his best faux-Jack
Nicholson.
That dumb scene baffled me until I saw the credits (Mary Jo
*Slater* was the casting-whatever for Star Trek VI). My suspicion is now
verified.

At least nobody took Christian seriously in that scene. Least of all Sulu.
