Just saw Silence of the Lambs last night, and really enjoyed it. During the
final credits I noticed the role of SWAT Commander was played by Chris Isaak.
Thinking back, I seemed to remember that the Commander was an older guy with
an almost-handlebar mustache. So the way I figure it, there are three
possiblities here:

1. The Commander was not the character I remember, the part was played by
Chris Isaak (the singer) and I just failed to notice him.

2. The character was played by a different Chris Isaak.

3. The character I remember WAS Chris Isaak the singer, and they just
did a fantastic makeup job.

I'm guessing its probably number 2. Any other ideas?
Did anyone else notice this?

No, it's number 1. The older guy with the handlebar moustache was in charge
of the overall security, as I recall. The explanation for your not noticing
Chris is simple: without his band backing him up, he becomes invisible. I
probably spoiled the film for several people sitting near me by breaking out
in uncontrollable laughter every time he said "OK boys, let's go." My most
sincere apologies, as I really couldn't help it.

I haven't seen SotL yet, but based on the fact that *the* Chris Isaak had a
small role in J. Demme's previous picture, "Married to the Mob," it's almost
certainly the same guy.

"Married to the Mob" spolier below:

What did he play in Married to the Mob? He was the Burger World Clown that
tried to shoot Dean Stockwell.
