O.k...it may have been discussed here, in length, but my friends and I saw
Lethal Weapon 3 (again) on CITY-TV (in Toronto). The wonderful scene where
Riggs and...and...(I CAN'T REMEMBER HER NAME!!)...are in HER office talking
about the bad guy (I can't remember HIS name, either!!), blah blah blah,
Riggs says "It's closer than you ever got."
SHE says "No, close is a langerie shop without any windows."
Later in the movie Riggs says "I don't get it."

NIETHER DO I!!

Please help...I've to my friends, to experts, to doctors, to specialists...
they all say the same thing....

OK, I'll try. Mind you, I've only watched LW3 once (I _really_ didn't like it,
although I loved the first two), but I thought she was referring to the first
film, where Riggs gets shot and blown through the front window of a store.
I'm pretty sure that it was a lingerie shop, and therefore "close" is being
blown through the front of a lingerie show, which now has no windows,
and being lucky enough to have been wearing a bullet-proof vest at the
time.

At least, that's the explanation that me and people I was with at the
time came up with -- I've never verified these things, though, so I might be
completely off base as far as the store being a lingerie shop, and therefore
the whole thing could just be hooey, or an inside joke.

I didn't like "Lethal Weapon 3" either, but I do remember the scene you
mentioned, and I didn't get it either. However, I did read in some
movie publication (I can't remember which one, though - sorry), that this
was a result of bad editing. It allegedly would've made more sense
if it was cut properly - however, I don't still don't know how the
punchline was *supposed* to work.
