Has anyone found any movies with good mud or quicksand scenes in them?
Especially when a woman gets stuck? Most actresses don't like to get
dirty, so we don't see this too often... here are qs / mud movies I've
cataloged so far, and as we see, women aren't in *any* of the majors!:

Please post or EMail any others!!!

Blazing Saddles - two guys and a railroad car sink
Krull - band of adventurers sink under magician's spell
The Mines of Kilomanjaro - Nazis foolishly blunder into quicksand
Escape - Woman prisoner escaping from South American white slave camp
sinks in a puddle of water that's *supposed* to be quicksand...
The Beastmaster - Guy falls in and "ferrets" his way out!
The Princess Bride - No, the "lighting sands" bit doesn't count!!! and it
was really fake anyway! No Lawrence of Arabia "sinking sand" either!
CBS TV Movie with Gregory Harrison (_________?) where the babe wanders
and sinks into quicksand...
Southern Comfort - lots of guys in swamp...
Remo Williams: The Adventure Continues - guy sinks in cement like qs

Mud Movies:
The Ranch - No quicksand, but features several women who go to a Canadian
ranch turned "health spa" and wallow in a big, sticky mud hole...
and one actress 'falls' in... fun movie!
Mugsy's Girls - O.K., this one is about a bunch of sorority girls who try
to win a mud wrestling tournement... but there is mud!!
Stripes - The famous (and excellent) bar mud wrestling scene
***all other mud wrestling flicks like "Hellcat Women Mudwrestlers", etc,
are hereby disclaimed, but a list would be nice...)
Undercover Blues - Kathleen Turner wrestles the Czech baddy women in a
big mudhole!!! This is the *only* female actress I know of who
seems to like getting dirty!!! (Hooray!)
Romancing the Stone - Again, Turner slides down a mud slide in the
Amazon
Poltergeist - Final sequence, where Segorny (sp?) Weaver falls into the
unfinished swimming pool during a rain storm... lots of excellent
shots of her squirming up the muddy sides :)
The Man with Two Brains - Steve Martins ex gets pushed into a big
mudhole... total coverage!

I need 50 titles (of quicksand) to win a bet
Please help me out!

Hey, you left out _Mad Max Beond Thunderdome_. One of the kids Max is with when
travling back to Bartertown sinks in the sand and I think a horse sinks at one
point too.

No, no thats not Sigorney Weaver.... that is JoBeth Williams.

Ahemm..
Once again that ex is Kathleen Turner.

Well... can't remember the titles but there were a lot of quick sand
demises in films from the 40's the 50's, especially Jungle films.

After car crashes .... killing off a female villian with quicksand seemed to
be another 'politically correct' method before there was even PC!
Dont know why this was but it was something that seemed to happen in
Serials and action films.

You're lacking "From Hell It Came" starring a walking tree,
plus 2-3 quicksand scenes..

In Tremors, a woman in a station wagon gets sucked into the ground by a
"snakeoid," does that count? Also, I think towards the end of Cannibal
Women in the Avocado Jungle of Death there might be a mudbath scene (it
may be a piranha pit). If you haven't seen the movie, you should watch it
anyway. On an episode of the Rifleman, some kid was almost swallowed up by
a pit of quicksand, but I guess that doesn't help you much. Oh well.

"Woman of the Dunes" (directed by Teshigahara) from a story by
Kobe Abe. Sand, as opposed to quicksand, but _lots_ of it.

Moreover, this is one EXCELLENT movie. Very psychological drama. Creepy,
erotic, and even something for the Mac-Gyver types.

It quite deservedly was nominated for Best Director. Curiously enough, that
was its only nomination; it was (and is) a pretty obscure movie.

Woman in the Dunes
directed by Hiroshi Teshigahara

How about the old classic Alligater People. A person turns into an
Alligator. In
terror he runs away in the woods and sinks out of site in a mud pit.

(what is this crud about women not liking to get dirty? perhaps the
script just doesn't call for it? could we perhaps generalize a bit
more?)
