I think the meeting with Cyrus in the beginning is in Van Cortland Park
in the Bronx? After the "incident," I think they hop in the 4, 5, or
6 train at Dyre Avenue and head South? I'm not positive of any of that
though and its going to take a real New Yorker to get their whole journey
straight.
Please follow up with responses here rather than e-mail. Thanks.

What? The Warriors are GOOD! They talk about that at the end of the
movie.
what happpen to the sequel i heard talk about it in 81 -82 but never
happen i was 16 at the time and living on 174 st
Well, lets start with the possible parks it could be where Cyrus gets
shot in the Bronx. I thought it was Van Cortland Park, which happens to
be next to Woodlawn Cemetary. I don't think that Cyrus gets shot in the
cemetery but I could be wrong. I think this is a list of all the
major parks in the Bronx excluding Van Cortland:
Ferry Point Park
Macombs Dam (John Mullaly) Park
N.Y. Botanical Gardens
Pelham Bay Park
Riverdale Park
Roberto Clemente State Park
Seton Falls Park
Sound View Park
St. Mary's Park
Wave Hill Park
Zoological Gardens (The Bronx Zoo)
Bronx Park
Claremont Park
Crotona Park
Mosholu Park
Directly East of Van Cortland Park is the Woodlawn Cemetery.
The IRT West Side Subway stops at the lower South-West Corner of Van
Cortland Park.
The IRT East Side Subway stops on the lower South East Corner of Van
Cortland Park, between the park and the Woodlawn Cemetery on Jerome Avenue.
I think that there is another IRT East Side Subway line accross the Metro
North Train tracks, North East of Woodlawn Cemetery (in Wakefield?) but I'm
not sure.
Anyway, I *think* that its Van Cortland Park and that the Cemetery (where
Rembrandt spray paints) is the Woodlawn Cemetery. I also think that they
catch one of the two IRT East Side Subways, probably the one on Jerome
Avenue, but I"m far from sure. Can you (or a native New Yorker) please
correct or confirm? Assuming that it is Van Cortland Park and they catch
the subway on Jerome Avenue, which train number would that be?
Once we figure out exactly which park it is, it will be easier to figure
out the rest of their trip home to Coney Island.

Film-makers do take extra-ordinary licence with geography to
suit their "dramatic" needs. One that always jars with me -
because they are roads I used to travel a lot - is the way
the motor scooters get from London to Brighton in QUADROPHENIA.
They approach on a minor road (so they can stop and look down on
the town and the sea) that they wouldn't use even if they were
desperately trying to avoid any anti-Mod road blocks the police
might have put up.
How would I know about such things? Don't even ask.

>why didnt they just steal ar car they are already gang members
Because Warriors didn't _know_ that they were wanted by the other gangs. They
thought the truce was still on, and that they would have a peaceful
journey home to Coney Island. It was only late that they realized they
were chased.
Besides, what difference would them stealing a car have made? They would
still have been chased by other gangs, right?

Actually, I think that they run into the Baseball Furies when Swan and
some of the other Warriors exit the 1,2, 3 subway at 96th Street. The
Furies then chase them to Central Park (where Ajax gets arrested by
Mercedes Ruehl).
: some other park,i think the station where they are chased by the bus
: inand the bald guys could be the last stop of the 4 train on jerome
: betwen van court and woodland , because its str not like the last stop
: on dyre at the 6 train that is sort of perpendicular to the street and
: the 2 train at 241 st couldnt resemble it i lost know contact
: paramount or see the movie again
Well Mr. Garden. I took your advice and saw the movie again and was very
surprised by what I found: Walter Hill cheated.
Thats not say that I don't think that _The Warriors_ is a fantastic film or
that Hill gave us a good show on screen. I do.
After Cyrus has been shot, and the gang is in the cemetery, they see the
train from there. They have to run for it as they are being chased by a
bus full of other gang members. They run and make the train in the nick
of time, and there is a shot of which train it is on the side of the
car: The M train, which is the Nassau Street local, bound for Chambers
Street. Thats a far cry from the Bronx.
Later on, when Rembrandt and some of the other Warriors are at the 96th
Street station, they catch another train which is supposedly bound for
Union Square, but again in reality it is only the M train bound for Chambers
Street.
The bottom line is that while during the film, the Warriors are on
trains that are consistent with their journey (The Q,B, or D to
Brooklyn for example), Hill did cheat on a few as well. I have to
wonder whether or not the whole scene in the colliseum in the beginning
was even filmed in the Bronx or if the cemetery was either. Hill
obviously had clearance to film in Manhattan and Brooklyn - would it have
been that much more expensive to lug the crews up to the Bronx?
_The Warriors_ is still one of my favorite films.
