I remember in "Forrest Gump" a scene in which Gary Sinise
is crossing the street and hits (?) a taxi cab, saying, "I'm
walking here!" - a line Dustin Hoffman, as Enrico Rizzo, says in
"Midnight Cowboy." I think the song "Everybody's Talkin'" was
played in "Gump," as well, but I'm not sure. :-)

I only remember a scene where Gump and Sg. are crossing the street with the
"I'm walkin here!" line or paraphrase.

Good job! It's nice to see people noticed more than just the technical
special effects wizardry in "Gump"!

Yes, I think it was rather unfortunate about that film that it had to
rely on other films to propel itself forward. When I heard the
Everybody's Talkin' song and then heard Sinise shout "I'm walking here!"
that was one of the real reasons I hate Forrest Gump. It's as if we
should be reminded of how films USED to be made. I think the audience I
saw Gump with should be lucky the "joke" went over their head.
Then again, wasn't Pulp Fiction derivative of thousands of junky movies?
Hm, but I suppose at least the story was original. Wake me when this
trend to re-hash old movies and tv shows into new ones is over. With the
Brady Bunch and Mission Impossible out or coming out, I think it's going
to be a long sleep....!

It's not the first time Zemeckis has made reference to the "I'm walking
here!" line in MIDNIGHT COWBOY. Marty McFly, Jr. does the same thing in
2015 in BACK TO THE FUTURE II.
