He played Sid in "Sid and Nancy", Oswald in "JFK", Dracula
in "Bram Stoker's Dracula", and starred with Lena Olin in
"Romeo Is Bleeding". Hope I could help.

'Dracula' (Francis Ford Coppola)

'The Professional' or 'Leon', depending on the final naming of this Luc
Besson film.

His name is Gary Oldman. He is quite a gifted actor, isn't he?
I was struck by his performances in "Sid and Nancy" and "JFK".
He manages to become a completely different person. I guess
that's called acting.

The rec.arts.movies movie database can answer your question. Here are some
of the ways to access it:

(1) To use the e-mail interface, send a message with the subject (note the
spelling):

ACTOR Oldman, Gary

to <mo...@ibmpcug.co.uk> and the movie mail-server will respond with the
information you require. If you include the word HELP in the body of the
message you will also receive a copy of the help file.

(2) For remote interactive access to the database via World Wide Web, if you
have access to a WWW browser such as Mosaic (X windows, PC and Mac versions
are available from ftp.ncsa.uiuc.edu in /Web) try the following URLs:

http://www.cm.cf.ac.uk/Movies/ (European users prefered)
http://www.msstate.edu/Movies/ (USA/rest of world prefered)
http://ballet.cit.gu.edu.au/Movies/ (Australian users *only*)

(3) For local interactive access to the database, the FTP site cathouse.org
has software for several operating systems:

Unix in /pub/cathouse/movies/database/tools/moviedb-3.0.tar.Z
MS-DOS in /pub/cathouse/movies/database/tools/cb141.arj
Amiga in /pub/cathouse/movies/database/tools/mdb_Amiga_3_0.lha

(4) For telnet access via WWW:

telnet info.cern.ch
then type go http://www.cm.cf.ac.uk/Movies/

telnet ukanaix.cc.ukans.edu (login: www) needs vt100
then look under "by Subject" then "Movies"

Well, since noone has mentioned it, I'd recommend watching
"Rosencrantz and Guildenstern" to see Oldman at his best (and the other
title character is played by Tim Roth, who is the best actor in the whole
world :)).

Old Ham... I like it ;)

You mean Gary Oldman... He is fantastic! State of Grace is one of
my favorites.

He was also in JFK (Lee Harvey Oswald), Bram Stoker's Dracula,
Romeo is Bleeding, and the upcoming film about Bach (with Isabella
Rosellini -- his fiance`).

Gary Oldman is probably one of the most respectable actors I've had the
pleasure to witness on film. He seems to pick his roles specifically. And
what fantastic roles! DRACULA, and that psychotic pimp in TRUE ROMANCE!

Didn't he go to school at the Royal Shakespeare Thingy? I'd like to know
more...

Not to wreck the thread, but I saw Gary Oldman on the set of "The Scarlet
Letter" a couple of weeks ago. Looks good in Puritan costume! Demi was there
as well.

I also think Gary Oldman is one of the most talented actors today. And
picking up on the accent thread elsewhere in the newsgroup, check out his
American accent in Criminal Law (that's the one w/Kevin Bacon, right?).
Hard to believe he's the same person who also plays Sid Vicious & the
character in True Romance!
