I understand that Warner's will be releasing Dial M for Murder in
3D about mid year with other 3D titles from the fifties to follow
later on. At least it will be better than the pirate 3D dvds being
currently sold on the internet .Personally I would prefer to see
HOUSE OF WAX and THOSE REDHEADS FROM SEATTLE which are more
interestig films in 3D than DIAL M FOR MURDER ever was. At least
these 3D films from the fifties are better than the 3D crap they show
today (only ever seen 2 in the last 5 years)..

Hurray! More 3D films!

I think you're missing out on some of the better 3D films of today if you've
seen that few. My favorites - POLAR EXPRESS 3D, all of the Pixar 3D titles,
HUGO, the Harry Potter 3D versions of Deathly Hallows Parts 1 & 2, and
DESPICABLE ME.

Dial M for Murder was interesting for its "natural" approach to 3D; only one
scene had any deliberate "3D effect". Kiss Me Kate was another that used 3D in
a natural way, which I also enjoyed. But both can be watched in 2D without any
great loss.

The same goes for any recent 3D movie I've seen. "Up", for example, was a very
good movie, but it would still be a very good movie in 2D. The only memory I
have of the 3D part of the movie is an uncomfortable sort of tunnel vision
watching it through the glasses, and ghosting on the screen.

The only movie I can think of that really needs to be seen in 3D was a Three
Stooges short that took full advantage of the process.

harry potter?? You must be joking? 3 leading actors who have zero
acting ability.Polar express was great and HUGO (IN 2D) deserves
the best film oscar even though I am not a Scorsese fan.His tribute to
the silent days of cinema in HUGO shows his passionate love for
all things cinema.A rare masterpiece from America. Sometimes they do
make a good film.

HUGO was the best looking modern 3-D movie I have seen so far. It is
also the best looking electronically shot film to date. For my taste
( even though I am a Scorsese fan), the best homage to the silent days
is THE ARTIST. Isn't the wide world wonderful with its multitude of
differing yet valuable opinions?

No, not joking. It was a very enjoyable film. Not expecting LAWRENCE OF
ARABIA kind of quality there either...

HUGO in 3D is pretty awesome. Nothing like watching Melies' films come to
life in 3D!
