How about a program to emmulate the Deva 4/5 menu on my pc. For those
of us who may have to rent, still haven't decided which machine to by,
or perhaps even those who are thinking of upgrading from Deva II, this
could be of great help. I've read through the Deva manual, and it's
quite impressive. I'd love to be able to navagate the menu and play
with the functions, but don't have access to the machine, so let me
point and click through the menus on my pc. I think it would be
usefull and quite frankly fun.

Yamaha has a similar program for their PM-1D high end digital mixer.

The mixer runs on a modified PC as it is, so you can install the
interface software for training and set up purposes. When you get it
set up the way you like, you transfer the settings directly to the
mixer via PCM/CIA interface and start mixing.

For training purposes or just setting up a show before having hands on
the gear, this is invaluable.

Hint: His motive would be to study all the menus searching for things to criticize. Once again, the game of "my box is better than your box" would resume in earnest. I still like the idea, though. In a few days we will post a link to a complete Deva IV/V simulation
program. This program will also include audio files that will be mixed
live and played on your PC. This simulation will give anyone a very
good idea of how intuitive the Deva is to operate and how easy it is to
learn. It will also serve as a tool for new users to get some quality
time with the interface before taking delivery of a new Deva. The
simulation will run only on PCs.

Thank you for the suggestion.

Ehh, if i remember well, the Aaton remote palm software could be
emulated on a PC by these public available PALM emulators. Did it 2
times, looked nice.
That was 2 years ago, and haven't heard anyone about it anymore.

Just an update on this...

We expect to get the simulation out before the end of next week. When
it is on our site I will make the announcement here.

The Deva simulation for PC is now available for download from
www.zaxcom.com. Please let us know what you think. A user manual is
also available. Like the Deva itself it is all very easy to use.
