I have "PLL flashing on my Lectrosonics SM transmitter. None of my
other ones do that and no RF is shown on the corresponding 411A
receiver.

Anyone know what that is? Based in Toronto here.

Larry?????

I changed frequencies and all seems to be fine now but why would that
show up on the Transmitter and no RF. Is it something i should be
worried about?

Anyone?

Larry?????

Glen

(A bit less worried now. I hope)

Hi Glen,
The PLL flashing shows a fault in which the local oscillator (Phase
Locked Loop) cannot adjust to the set frequency. Have you tried
resetting to the original "bad" frequency? If it flashes again then
the PLL cannot cover the full range and it needs a trip to the
mothership. I am assuming that the bad frequency is at one end or the
other of the block. As a check, set the frequency to the highest and
lowest frequency for your block (0,0 and F,F).

You can use the unit over the reduced range until you get free time.
Don't set frequencies close to the problem end of the block. It does
need to be repaired. The PLL is set at the factory to have some
headroom at each end of the frequency range to allow for aging,
temperature changes and component drift. Yours is out of headroom.

Was the frequency it was flashing on close to the top or bottom end of
the block? Our repair facility in Canada [(877) 753-2876 Joe
Burtinsky] is capable of anything that can be done here in
Albuquerque.
