Hi, movie fans,

Please don't post any more to this thread. It is in the wrong newsgroup.

This title, "Movies with oral castration", has caused the 3 next posts to
be lists.

Lists and surveys belong in the the newsgroup
rec.arts.movies.lists+surveys.

Please go there to post your list of films.

And please read the FAQ for the rec.arts.movies hierarchy before posting.
The FAQ makes it clear that rec.arts.movies.past-films is not the right
newsgroup for lists of movies.

Thanks for respecting the topical nature of Usenet newsgroups,

I thought that a penis was bitten off in "Garp." At least that's what took
place in the book.

Isn't that castration? I think that's what the original poster meant. I
suppose you might be thinking of oral castration as biting off someone's
testicles, or making him impotent by calling him names...

Yes, I was thinking of removal of the testes. That's what occurs in
castration (or it can be ovaries--geld/spay). Though I like the idea of being
called names and made impotent by that. So, are there any movies where that
has also occurred?

It usually happens to me in the newsgroups rather than in the movies.

Castration involves removal of the testicles. Only.

The loss of testicles, my dear boy, the loss of testicles. (Ovaries qualify
with regard to castration, but use of "oral" is probably not appropriate when
referring to ovaries and castration.)

Penile removal is referred to as 'bobbing' or eunichification.

I don't recall that the movie Garp described the extent of
the dismemberment, but in the book the man's penis was bitten off in the
car accident- he was not castrated.
