Yeah it's called "SKIDOO" with Groucho Marx as God. I never heard of
it. It's says it's an LSD movie with Jackie Gleason now on a DVD.
Sounds wierd!

There's a very good reason why you never heard of it.

Gleason on acid is the best part. And Nilsson "singing" the closing titles.

I've known about lots of 60s movies for years.
Lines near the start of the movie always stay in my mind 'i never watch
movies on television, they cut them to pieces' or words to that effect.
I'd never thought of that before seeing this movie, and it's true.
How about an early Francis Ford Coppola movie from 1966, very memorable
for its use of a Lovin Spoonful song, Darlin Be Home Soon, released on
DVD, You're a Big Boy Now, that isn't anywhere as far as I know?

I was right, from imdb:
'In the film's TV-viewing opening, Preminger's film In Harm's Way (1965)
is featured. Otto Preminger always complained about having his films cut
to pieces on TV. Thus, Carol Channing's character says, "No, I never
watch films on TV... they always cut them to pieces."'

Looking at imdb it seems as if this movie has a lot of memorable
dialogue. Another bit I always remember was the character who learns a
new word a day, and the latest is 'prerogative'

I once taped this off TCM and made a DVD for a former contributor to
this group -- a faux Faulkner character who calls himself Tom Sutpen.
He was trying to be some sort of completist with his movie collection.
This movie was so awful I felt sorry for him.

He's a "friend" of mine on Facebook. He once sent me something -- and
far better than "Skidoo" -- so it comes and goes around.

Not bad as I remember, not as many instantly dated anachronisms. With
Peter Kastner and the tragic Elizabeth Hartman.
