At least his name was easier to pronounce (although Arrow and Bow wasn't too
bad).

Tom (Sutpen), Jim (Neibaur), and anyone else who, in the past, told me of
some value this asshole may have-- have you reconsidered? Do we really need
such an obvious no-life mental case to enrich our existence around here?

I've reconsidered.

The only reason I referenced both of you is because I respect you both, of
course (if some jerk defended Gaza, it would just be par for the course).

After a certain point, a genuine love of film (which I'll grant Gaza) cannot
overcome the overbearing foolishness he foists upon us. It's too bad his
mental illness interferes with his other worthwhile traits, but hey, it's
not my fault--nor is it getting any better, way too obviously. In short,
enough is enough.

Fuck him.

I don't think it's mental illness. I think it's personality disorder.

I'm a newbie so I don't know this gaza or whatever. But I've been checking
your posts and you often use the 4 lettered word. Your ma oughtta wash your

obscene lout like yourself?

On 29 August, 2002 Tony Gaza thought he was continuing the charade:

Here's a tip, if you want the act to last more than one post before
everyone realizes it's you: The only person who ever claims not to know who
Gaza is . . . is Gaza.

A question, while I'm here: Don't you get tired of this?

That's part of the disorder, er, I mean the shtick. Anonymity is something he
doesn't really want.

> A question, while I'm here: Don't you get tired of this?

Longevity is what really separates Gaza from your garden variety troll. He's
been doing this literally for years, without change. He's like the Terminator:
you can't reason with him, you can't slow him down, he won't ever stop. He'll
outlast all of us in this NG. He's like the weather: we can complain about it
all we want, but it won't change a thing.

Gaza may be a major annoyance, but the persistent perversity of his disorder
(and I'm certain he suffers from an actual disorder) is something to marvel at.

We have someone similar in te Buffy newsgroup. He posts at a prolific
pace and never seems to actually say anything.

Funny, Tom, you came down on me quite hard many moons ago when I had the
apparent temerity to post Why Don't We Just Call this the Gaza
Newsgroup. I was using a different username then, but you were quite
offensive in defending this creep and coming down on ME.
Well, Tom, I guess all things come around. Nothing has changed - he was
an asshole then and he's an asshole now - whatever name he uses.

Mr. Gaza has real problems, although I'm sure he gets a kick out of all
this. He is someone who does not leave his home, who sits at a computer
twenty-four hours a day, and makes visiting ngs a pain in the ass for
everyone. Now, what kind of person behaves like that? A creep, someone
who has no life, a societal misfit, a socio-psychopath. I don't give a
crap whether he likes film, hates film or even knows about film (I
suspect he knows NOTHING about film and just roams the net picking up
info to post about). In short, Mr. Gaza, when all is said and done, at
the end of the day you are a total loser.

I don't recall the post in question, but I'll take your word for it. I
disagree that Tony knows nothing about film, though. I think his knowledge is
limited, but considerable within those limitations. He used to write a lot more
frequently -- and a lot more seriously -- about movies once, but he's pretty
much given that up; opting instead for his current shenanigans. I know he's
always indulged in this crap, but I've never seen him do it to the exclusion of
everything else as he has the last six months or so. I wish he wouldn't, but
there's nothing I can do beyond hope he gets tired of it at some point.
At the time of the original post you're referencing, I no doubt thoughty
more highly of his contribution to this newsgroup because he gave us more to
think highly about. Now it's nothing but 'I'm not Gaza', off-topic rants,
variations on his old threads ("alphaville vs fahrenheit 451"), obvious
flamewar bait, etc. In other words, he's wasting his time. Which is fine, if
that's what he wants to do. Nothing I can (or will) do about it. It's a free
Usenet.

I do apologize, though, if I said anything on that occasion you took
offense with. It was probably early in my posting history and I used to get
carried away a lot. I measure out my furies far more carefully these days.

it's not a matter of getting tired.
heaven knows i've tried to be cordial and friendly in this ng but
there are too many boors, too many louts, too many antiamerican
lowlifes.

and if you act nice, they pick on you. they try to mangle you, step
all over you.

take moe hailstone. he was this foulmouthed rot talking like norman
mailers ideal of the white negro. he was trying to diss me out. well,
i just had to kick his ass, bitchslap his stupid junkie self and guess
what? in the past several days, he hasn't used the 4 lettered word.
he got his ass kicked by me and now he's showing some signs of good
behavior.

heck, instead of bragging about his jive ass coltrane collection, he's
even asking such goody questions as gee, what happened to mr. frank
capra? he was talking like some wild pothead biker but now he's a cute
teletubby. don't i deserve some credit for this?

i understand you're tolerant and forgiving; you have the personality
of a japanese mother and that's cool. you like to indulge all the
spoiled brats in this ng but i have to play the stern taskmaster
because their lunacies are getting out of hand.

take legallo and his constant antiamerican diatribes. or madkevin and
his anarchist idiocies. not to mention their horde of minions.

i mean who's gonna fight against this? should we just let them take
over? the antiamerican commie crowd? are you willing to allow this
venerable ng become the plaything of commies?

which is why i have to fight fire with fire. which is why i have to
play hide and seek because that's what commies do. it's like invasion
of the body snatchers. they dress like americans, they eat like
americans, they talk like americans, but secretly they are spreading
antiamerican rot through cyberspace.

i can't sit still and let this happen. it'd be great to have a gazan
army against the growing minion empire but it's like attack of the
clones. darkness is really descending. and now we even have jonah
horwitz, apparently another commie prick who equates americans
remembering the sacrifices of the fallen in world war II with...
masturbation. if this isn't hateful lunacy, what is? and i doubt if
horwitz and his minions ever called the wild obnoxious soviet
celebration and parades commemorating the bolshevik revolution or the
great patriotic war masturbatory excesses. i tell ya, these people
are sick!

and so i go by the yojimbo code. he was confronted by commie scumbags
so he had to be bad-bad, which is even worse than bad to defeat the
bad.

so don't tell me to be nice. i tried that. nothing good came of it.
when they fight dirty, you gotta fight dirty. when they kick you in
the nuts, you gotta kick them in the nuts even if they have no balls.

just ignore all my posts as they tend to be unsavory because i'm in a
state of war against the terrorists of this ng. and war is a dirty
business.
like truman said, if you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.
