"Senna" a pretty decent race-driver documentary

Ayrton Senna died at age 34 after an F1 racing accident. The movie is
about his career. This guy was worshiped in Brazil, his home country
and he was probably the best "all out" driver since Jacques Villeneuve
from Canada. They contrast his daredevil-like skill against Alain
Prost, a highly-skilled technical driver.

Yes, saw it on NBC-Sports Network, (it looks like they'll repeat it a few
more times). The horror of the race where he died was palpable.
Barrichello flies full-speed into a barrier, the German driver dies, Senna
knows his new car is unpredictable. It looks like a steering component
failure caused the crash (not over-driving the car). Very sad. He was one
of the great instinctive drivers that could throw a F1 car around the track
at terrifying speed and keep it between the ditches.

The part where they showed the camera while he was driving was
incredible. His driving was flawless. The really tragic thing was it
took the best driver F1 ever had dying for them to make any real strides
in safety. Now, of course, their safety record makes NASCAR look like
the Mickey Mouse club.

Senna (and Ratzenberger) were the first racing fatalities in 12 years
(Elio de Angelis was killed testing 8 years beforer Senna) - the sport
had been cleaned up in the late 60s/early 70s largely thanks to the
efforts of Jackie Stewart. By the time of Senna's death they'd got
complacent again.

Yeah, I saw the other show depicting what Stewart went through. I guess
they had to start somewhere.
