Hi,
does anyone know who plays the part of the punk girl in "Local Hero"? The
girl, when asked why she's chasing after Danny, answers: "He's different..."

Gotta love imdb...if you know the character's name, here's the cast

Thanx MM, I know and like imdb.
Problem is exactly that: I don't know the character's name (I don't even
think she's called by her name in the film).

OK, a little logic and deduction is called for. An inspection of the
cast credits for minor female characters narrows it down to either Ann
Scott-Jones ("Linda Fraser") or Caroline Guthrie ("Pauline"). Caroline
Guthrie was also in 'Gregory's Girl', also set in Scotland and directed
by Bill Forsyth (as was 'Local Hero'), so I think she's your best
bet...maybe it's time to re-watch the movie specifically to see if her
character's name is mentioned. Good luck...

Thanx again. I admit that I could have done the deduction myself if I would
have checked the cast. Just didn't realise there were so few women.
But I don't understand the logic of CG also being in another Forsyth film.
Unless maybe you presume I have seen Gregory's Girl.
A bio on imdb sure would have helped :-(
Regards

Steven

Directors sometimes have 'favorite' actors that they employ, e.g. John
Ford. It's not a definitive clue, but at least a likely indicator.

You could rent Gregory's Girl for a cross-check.
