Nargis & Raj: Help Me Get This Straight

following this for years, but to we newcomers this whole thread is
tourturous tantalizing. So help me to get this clear.
Sunil Dutt + Nargis Nargis + Raj Kapoor Raj + Krishnan

Sanjay Dutt Dimple Kapadia Rishi Kaporky
This much is clear, although not necessarily true. But one post indicated
Nargis moved from Raj to Sunil during the making of MOTHER INDIA. So
where do Kapadia come in? Another post mentioned a sister, Simple
Kapadia, with that surname: was Dimple married to a Kapadia during her
affair with Raj? Or was there a Kapadia between Kapoor & Dutt? Or is
Kapadia Dimple's maiden name and she had at least two children out of
wedlock in India in the fifties while remaining a huge star - a very
novel possibility.
Finally, the Nehru angle someone mentioned. Is the rumour then that
Nargis had an affair with Nehru, resulting in Dimple Kapadia???!!! Making
Indira Gandhi & Sanjay Dutt step-siblings? This all gets very
Shakespearean, when we look at the jailing of Sanjay and whimsically
consider his father's political activities & his own position, according
to this spectacular rumour, as a potential bastard claimant with a
mispent youth to the Nehru dynasty. Edmund in King Lear + Prince Hal in
the Henry plays. Sort of. No wonder Mrs. Gandhi called a State of Emergency.
Anyway, could someone kindly make all of this clear to me. Thanks.

ps: It pains me to see Raj Kapoor potrayed so negatively. Very few
seem to understand the complete filmmaker and the cinematic genius
that he was and to in addition to that there are accusations on his
character. I am dismayed.
Pps: Raj and Nargis had an affair as honourable as any affair and
parted in an equally honourable way when it was conflicting with the
(Raj's) family. That is the fact and the rest is slander.

Except that the dead cannot be slandered in law, so that leaves us where
we began, in base & baseless rumourmonging. What puzzled me in the other,
initial Nargis /Raj thread was when the Dimple as daughter allegation was
brought up, where the surname "Kapadia" fits in. So whowould a studio
press release, concerned with propriety, give as her parents: the
otherwise unheralded Mr. & Mrs. Kapadia , or is she the acknowledged -
forget rumoured - child of someone celebrated. Please take no umbrage at
the other whimsy. -Richard

Nothing to be apologetic about. If anybody in the newsgroup can be accused
of being impulsive it's me. And I didn't immediately apologize for an
earlier mistake.
I don't know why but I am a bit touchy about criticism of RK. Thus I went
a bit too far. Sorry about that.
I am not sure I was serious all through my previous thread.
And I didn't get all the facts either. I was talking to a friend and he
gave me the following info.
It is known that Dimple was the adopted daughter of the Kapadias. Just after
RK's death Dimple claimed in a DD interview that Raj Kapoor was her father.
And I thought I had seen/read all the programmes/articles on RK after
his death! I don't think it made that big an impact those days.

I don't think a single post has yet discounted Raj Kapoor's cinematic
genius, nor as a filmmaker. Now the discussion on his acting career,
whether it can be called that is debatable, is still on the table. :)
Yeah, and I suppose that saying JFK had an affair with Marilyn would
be an un-warranted accusation on JFK's character eh? :)

That depends on whether we allow the discussion about philmi people's
off-screen lives in this newsgroup.
