Sandhyarani passes away
July 21: Veteran Bengali actress Sandhyarani died of a
heart attack at a city nursing home on Tuesday morning.
She was 75.
Sandhyarani made her debut into films in 1938.
Throughout the 60 years of her chequered career, she
acted in more than 250 films and several plays. Some of
her popular films include Samadhan, Bindur Chhele,
Jogajog, Mane na Mana, Mayamriga and Neel Darpan.
Her last film, Sesh Ashray, is yet to be released.

i can distinctly remember two movie scenes from her films dating
forties/ late 30s when she had just started playing side roles
to the heroine. One was a famous detective movie (sorry don't
remember the name, most probably it was Dhiren Ganguly's movie..
I'll try to find out the name) and the other one was the famous scene of
song "Nabik Amaar, Nongor Felo" of Rabin Mozumder where
Sandhyrani was singing along with main actress of the movie
Kanaan Bala (later known as Kanaan Devi).
