Saw this Malayalam movie - Chandralekha.
1/2 the movie was very very funny, but a lot of
Bollywood like songs & a melodramatic ending spoiled
it. But still a very good movie.

Mohanlal & Pooja Batra play the leading roles.
Anil Kapoor does a 2 minute cameo.

The movie is a cross between "While You were Sleeping"
and a typical Blandings castle adventure - though it's not
copied frome either of those.

Made by Priyadarshan.

What medium? DVD? Did it have subtitles?

Two of my all-time favorite Malayalam movies are;
1. Ulladakkam - starring Mohanlal, Amla and Shobhana
2. His Highness Abdullah - starring Mohanlal and Gowthami

Best Regards

I like all the 3 parts of Nadodikattam + the original Malayalam
version of "Yeh Tera Ghar, Yeh Mera Ghar", which is very funny.

Do you happen to know the name of the Malayalam movie which won a national
award about two/three years ago for Shobhana as the lead actress
apparently being possessed with the 'bhoot' of an old-time danceuse (or
something like that)?

It wasn't 2/3 years ago. At least 10 yrs ago bcos I remember seeing her
getting the award in India. Most likely 1994. The movie name is
Manichitraoo something. It wasn't about bhoot but more of split
personality like what Nargis did in Raat
Aur Din (she too got national award in that movie).
