I saw it yesterday on VCD.
I am so happy to have seen it because it is a good movie, and
also because it is about UP and especially about Lucknow that is
the place where I was born and brought up. How could I miss it.
Thanks again and again.
I think I have seen the original print. I didn't notice any
missing sequence, or any sudden overlap or cut as is normally in
some CD. The quality was good too. audio as well as video.
However several questions did not get answered for me.
Could someone please try to explain:

- Who exactly was Pankaj Kapoor?
I mean, he was the professor of telecommunication and he helped
STF. but how does he fit in so much as he was the one who
started telling the story and he ended the climax as well as the
story.
- Who were the people who were picturising the story told by
Pankaj Kapoor?
- Who were the servant and the old man who get killed just after
the casting? Who were their killers? Why were they killed?
- Who was the kid who sees it all and runs?
- The kids runs and a shot is heard. Did the kid get killed?
- What was the role of Pratima Kazmi (phulsakhi of B&B) in it.
Whose marriage that was, in which she was singing the song?
- Who was getting killed when Pratima Kazmi was standing afraid
with others?
- Who exactly was Mahima Chaudhary's father in it? Did he ever
appear in any frame in this movie? When? If not, why not?
- When the CM's friend got killed and the friend's son got
captured for ransom, there was a scene of kid asking for water
and they not providing him. Then dhanraj asks a person "aaj
laundiyaabaaji mat karanaa" and that suddenly switches to
someone having made two calls from some PCO near railway line.
and then everybody was beating a lad (probably the same who was
warned about laundiyabazi, and he was the one who made the two
calls). They asked him "chhokaraa kahaan hai?" or something of
that sort.
What exactly was that sequence. Did the CM's dead friend's
kidnapped son had escaped?
but, when STF reaches there, the kid was still there.
Why were the two calls made? He could not have done any
laundiyabaazi on phone?
- When Arshad Warsi was seeing the video clip in the room of
ADG, and runs away to stop the team from leaving and the bomb
gets blast on turning the ignition key, What exactly has Arshad
Warsi seen? Who was the culprit for the blast? Did the culprit
escape himself?
- At the end, Sushant (dhanraj) sees STF members and then
concludes that that politician must have called the STF to get
them arrested. Well, if the politician had called the STF, they
would not have been searching for dhanraj in other platform and
would have been directly reached the cabin where the talks took
place. Is there any other basis of dhanraj's alarm.
- Dhanraj & co then killed the politician in that room itself.
That was a bad decision because it was the shot of gunfires that
caught the attention of STF, otherwise dhanraj would have
escaped.
- In the train compartment at the end, why did Arshad Warsi
remain standing there right in the middle isle to get shot?
- Why exactly was everyone killed? An alternate scenario could
have been that Dhanraj and Arshad Warsi were about to shoot each
other, but Pankaj Kapoor shoots Dhanraj from behing Arshad, a
la, the black policeman in Die Hard. Arshad would have lived.
Why were director intent on getting everyone killed.
- Why did Arshad Warsi got his farewell from his mother and from
Mahim with so much fanfare as if director has tipped them that
it is there last scene. What was so specific about the
particular chase that Arshad had the hunch.
- What was Arshad's father voiceover trying to explain to
Arshad's mother when she sees that photo. Well, he said there
was blood everywhere and blood is black. So? What does it
explain? Does it mean everyone who sees the blood should leave
his post?
- Arshad starts with a perfectly UP (Lucknow/ Kanpure) tone in
the first shot of the film, but then onwards he speaks purer
dialect.
-----------
The film indeed has several loopholes, but even with these
loopholes, it is one of the better movies I have seen in the
recent times.
A good description of nexus between politicians and criminals,
with police caught in between.
Highly inflated director, Ram Gopal Verma can learn several
lessons from this film.
For once, you have got a movie in which most (of course, not
all) of the policemen are sincere and honest.

I wouldn't be able to explain all since I saw the movie sometime back
and your questions are very specific, yet I can answer one.

He was the only survivor. He was an eye witness to the entire operation
and the only one left alive after the train incident.

Could be any news channel. A stupid question from you.

A thekedar who was a rival in getting that those tenders. They were
killed by the tender rivals

thekedar's grandson

yes. they did not want to leave any clues behind

he saw a guy in the clip whom he had seen hanging around in jeep
earlier that day. This was very obvious. You should have noticed it

The place might not have been fixed before hand.

IIRC he didn't have many bullets left, and the only way to attack was
to go out in the open. Hiding and firing wasn't a solution anymore.

The movie was based on a real life story.
A very good movie I think. Even though everything was like you have
seen it before, it was executed very well.

Why exactly pankaj kappor being given so much focus?
As I see it, there was not even a need of showing the entire
story in any flashback. Pankaj kapoor did not add anything to
the story in his recording, before and after the story-telling.
The story could have started with the scene between Arshad and
his mother, and ended with Arshad's death.

A channel which does not mention its name a 100 times, nor does
it show its logo another 100 times. must be some channel from
Mars.

I mean why exactly that scene was shown? So sudden, so specific,
so gruesome. And no way directly connected to any other charater
in the film, unless I failed to recognize any of the characters
at that very beginning.
And then, suddenly, Pankaj Kapoor starts getting his story
recorded.
I thought that the kid of the first scene had survived, and had
grown up to become punkaj kapoor, and that would have explained
his fear of guns also. But, I could not find any mention of
these things, hence I guess you are correct that these were
unrelated.

I had guessed as much. However, I could not match any faces. All
were new for me.
I was worried whether anyone in Arshad's STF team himself had
turned the traitor, hence the question.

Still, if politician had called STF, he could have given the STF
direct ring after Shushant had left the room.
I mean, I find that murder of politician forced, just to show
that rivalry and mistrust makes them kill each other. Hence,
Shushant did not weigh all the possibilities which were shown
his high point till then. It was just that director says
"curtains", and everybody had to kill and get killed.

:) :) You mean the film was running that tight on budget?
I mean, scriptwriter, director could have provided some more
bullets.

Oh.
Yes, it makes sense.
That single comment of yours sets a lot of things right side up.
I somehow missed any mention of its being based on any real
story, if such a mention was shown in the film.
When they had shown a filmy CM of the state, I got confused.

That is right. Mahesh Bhatt/ N Chandra of original days could
have made an even better movie out of it. Still, the entire
effort is commendable.
Any other earlier/ next movies by the team?

They were recording the program, not broadcasting it IIRC.
Thanks Rawat for publicizing the film, and making me watch it. Your
spoilers sparked my interest.
Most of your questions were answered, except:
> - Who were the servant and the old man who get killed just after
> the casting? Who were their killers? Why were they killed?
The old man, as pointed out, was the original Thekedaar of Gorakhpur
and the man controlling everything. The killer was none other than
Sushant Singh (Gajaraj). That killing at the school was among the first
killings which began his rise to power. After that they show another
(second) Thekedaar become wary of Gajaraj and approach Arshad Warsi
after his attempts to appease Gajaraj (at the wedding) fail. AW says
something like: "aapakii aur inakii (Gajaraj kii) kahaanii to ek hai"
