Maybe I'm getting my performers mixed up, but is Dillon the guy from "The
Abduction" and "Powerfull 2" who wound up incarcerated for selling steroids?

Yeah, I'd like to know that too. He did an interview--did I read it in
Dave Kinnick's "Sorry I Asked" book of porn star interviews? Fun read
BTW. He impressed me. Seemed sweet, a boy from the heartland, came
to do porn. He also implied he'd bottom someday on screen (implying
that he was versatile IRL!!). Alas as far as I know, he never stayed
in the business long enough to do that. Pity. I was salivating at the
prospect of seeing it!

I know he was in both of those videos and he was/is a pretty big guy;
could be. Know anything else? Is he still in jail? Is he back in the
biz? Is he gay?

Yeah, but it's "PowerTOOL 2: Breaking Out" (Catalina, star vehicle for
Lex Baldwin) that Dillon was in. "PowerFULL 2" was Jeff Stryker's own
"sequel" to the original "Powertool", that he made independently after
leaving Catalina (who forced him to change the title).

I could've sworn I read that Dillon was arrested just as shooting was
starting on the "Abduction" sequels ("Conflict" and "Redemption") for
gun-running charges, not steroid selling (though that's probably more
likely). I'm guessing he's either still behind bars (this would've been
what-- 1993?) or on good behavior and staying away from obvious parole
violations. (I'm assuming someone could use any future porn appearances
while still on parole to put him back in the slammer, though I don't
know this to be a fact.)

I'm thinking Tim Lowe started churning out videos and working the strip clubs
again not long after his release from jail, and on charges more serious than
Dillon's. (Wasn't it manslaughter?)

But probably different people have different parole conditions. Recently I
read about a parolee in California who was returned to prison for going into
an adult bookstore and buying a condom. His parole stipulated that he not
enter adult bookstores.

If Dillon was in jail for selling steroids and was released early for good
behavior, then his parole probably stipulates that he not use steroids now.
Maybe in a deflated state, he just doesn't want to be filmed.

Nice guy. Remind me to never get any of his videos. I take it this dude
is bisexual (PLEASE don't tell me that he's straight. If I read another
story where a straight used a gay man and then horribly abused him, I will
flip out.)? How much time did he get and how the hell is he out of jail?
More importantly, why is he making videos? What is going on??!!!

How long is he in for? He is SO hot. And if he had plans to bottom on
screen...wow.

Thom, who wonders what kind of cop/jail fantasies Dillon has gotten into

FWIW, Tim Lowe, talking about his jail experience in "Lowe Down", said that
during his 14-month term, he never had sex. And that was San Francisco County
Jail!!

He has some new tatoos, long hair, and muscled up while in jail.

He is bi. :) Even had a wife at one point, and child, according Adam
Fil World.

I'm not sure what his actualy sentence was, but he got out after 14
months or so. Remember, he got manslaughter, which is not nearly as
serious a charge as murder. It's like hitting someone who runs out in
front of your car. Usually, you serve less than 5 years for
manslaughter (unless you live in DC, in which case you are considered
bad if you spend 5 MONTHS on probation for it).

I do not know why studios let him back into the business. I complained
bitterly at the time that letting a known murderer into gay porn sent
entirely the wrong message--especially since Lowe has shown no remorse
and even tried to tell us he was innocent in LOWE DOWN.

Dunno how long he's in for. I have no idea if he had plans to bottom.

See ya...

According to the Oct.'94 MANSHOTS, the cause of Allen Kinkeade's death
was not fully determined. Forensic reports revealed high levels of amyl
nitrate and methamphetamine in his blood; since the reports could not
conclusively rule out death from cardiac arrest, the charges against
Lowe were dropped from first degree murder by strangulation to
involuntary manslaughter.

I don't remember reading ANYWHERE that Kinkeade was decapitated. Tim,
are you sure you're not confusing this detail with the death of Billy
London, who was found decapitated in a dumpster?

P.S. Sorry this is late in getting here; my system's been fucked for
several days straight...

The decapitation detail is a new one on me too. Given the intense interest
that surrounded Lowe's case--at least in gay san francisco--I don't remember
reading much detail about the actual murder. But if Kinkeade was
decapitated, I think it would have been difficult for Lowe to successfully
argue involuntary manslaughter, as he did. "Well yes, I chopped his head off,
Your Honor. But I didn't mean to KILL him!"

I don't rush to condemn Lowe as Evil Incarnate, or presume that Kinkeade was an
innocent victim. I don't know if Lowe had his speed problem before he met Mr
Kinkeade, or what role Mr Kinkeade played in Lowe's growing addiction.
Kinkeade used speed himself, and it's easy to imagine a wealthy 52 year old
man using drugs as a tool to keep someone like Lowe from leaving. I'm not
saying this is what happened. Just that a lot of different scenarios are
possible, in some of which Mr Kinkeade might not be held 100% blameless.

The first reports from the "Bay Area Reporter" were that he had been
decapitated.

I'm not confusing it with Billy London's death. HOWEVER: I've only
heard that London, a performer who made a couple vids and then set up a
highly profitable gay porn distribution biz, was found murdered and
decapitated.

BUT: I've probably got the details wrong, AND I can't find ANYONE who
can provide me with any additional information!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can you? PLEASEEEEEEEEE tell me you can! :(

Well, as I wrote earlier, perhaps Lowe WAS innocent, at least of murder. But
even if Lowe had killed in cold blood, I don't think that's a reason for the
industry to blacklist him. I watch porn for the flesh and the thrill, not for
moral uplift. The producers take on the risk of getting robbed or stabbed to
death, and I pay them for it.

Lowe served his sentence. Now he's got rent to pay. Why not dancing and porn?
It's what he knows and does best.

One of the things porn is uniquely good for is allowing intimate access to men
we'd be afraid to bring home. There are LOTS of sexy criminals, and for me
at least, their criminality sometimes enhances their appeal. Many of the
popular Physique Picorial models of the 50's and 60's, and Old Reliable models
of the 80's and 90's had long rap sheets, and Mizer and Hurles usually
promoted these guys by HIGHLIGHTING their criminal records, not by glossing
over them.

I realize this isn't a universal taste among gay men, but I think there's a
strong demand for it. If Cunanan had actually made a hardcore film, wouldn't
it instantly have been the year's bestseller?

Ted Cox had been arrested for the murder of a woman in New York City,
and held in a city jail for over a year. However, he had an airtight
alibi, and eventually was released when police were unable to penetrate
his alibi.

The magazine is out; it is the November, 1997 issue of "XY" -- the gay
youth magazine.

Here're the basic facts:

17-year-old Atascadero resident Joshua Pickett (the model in question)
was arrested in connection with the murder of 29-year-old Vitaly
Poliakov, a gay russian businessman. Puckett is held in the San Luis
Obispo County jail and has not been charged yet with the homicide,
pending completion of a Contra Cost County district attorney's
investigation.

Pucket is already in custody on grand theft auto, and is implicated in a
string of SLO-area car thefts. He is also being held on violation of
probation in connection with a previous robbery conviction. He alrady
faces 8 years in jail on those charges.

Puckett is being held because he claims that he killed Poliakov during a
fight at Poliakov's Orinda home, when Poliakov alledgedly sexually
assaulted him during the night. The District Attorney's office is not
sure if Puckett is gay, and has not asked him. Puckett is well-known in
the Castro area of San Francisco, but none of his acquaintances could
say how he survived, where he obtained his money, where he lived, who
his means of support. Poliakov had known Puckett only a few weeks, and
had told friends in the emigre community that he was ws very excited
about the youth.

Poliakov ran an ex-im business, and was last seen alive at Club
Universe. His body was discovered in a creek near SLO (about 250 miles
north of SF) on September 11th. He had been bludgeoned to death.

Authorities believe that Puckett and an accomplice put Poliakov into the
trunk of the victim's car and dumped the body in SLO. Mardy Kisner, a
23-year-old Contra Costa County resident, was arrested on October 1st in
connection in the case. District Attorney Barry Grove said that he will
decide by the end of the month of October whether Puckett will stand
trial for Poliakov's death.

The deceased was a *MAN*, Tim, a *MAN*---Cox's middle aged "friend", Michael
Frank.

Cox had dinner with Frank the night he died. Frank's body was discovered the
next morning with 22 stab wounds. Cox was arrested six days later and charged
with the murder. He was on Rikers Island 15 months before the case went to
trial. Cox was acquitted 12-0, for lack of evidence, as you point out. I
don't think the case was ever solved.

I was a fan of Ted's. I especially liked him in "Pay to Play" (with fellow
jailbird Steve Sinclair) and in "Boys on the Block". I was disappointed in
his post-jail comeback, in Chi Chi's "Courting Libido". Ted just danced in
that film, but the way the scene was shot--in clouds of smoke, under strobe
lights, with lots of brief MTV-style cutaway shots--it seemed like Chi Chi was
trying to conceal Ted more than reveal him.

A much better view of the post-jail Ted is on one of the tapes called
"Interview". There were four in this series, and offhand I can't recall which
number Cox was in. His picture is on the back of the boxcover. Cox has
REALLY changed; every vestige of the boy is gone. He's got long hair now, a
goatee, wears lots of jewelry, and his body is covered with tattoos. He shows
off and explains these tattoos one by one, including the hideous eagle that
now covers his back. One tattoo is for his small daughter, who Ted says is
the most important person in his life.

That interview is intercut with snips from another Cox interview, probably from
around 1989 or 1990, when Cox was at his youthful peak (and wearing glasses!).
The contrast between the two Teds is striking. I guess a year on Riker's can
do that to a person.

Ted says that he became a sadist in jail, and I've heard that he's done some
bondage or spanking films since he got out. I don't usually get into these,
but I am curious to see Ted in action again. Does anyone know anything about
these films, like titles or production company?
