That's a seriously savage review. Good to see!

I'm not reading the review, because I plan to see the movie. (Whatever
else, Darrenofsky is never ineffectual.) But, fwiw, I do know that Rex

He'd be happy as a pig in then as there is much to scathe on in cinema
these days. I cannot recall the last first class movie I saw. Shirley it
wasn't 'No Country For Old Men'? There must've been *something* in the last
decade? Damn this Alchozimers!

Then you better ignore all of the reviews. The film is getting a whole lotta backlash.

I don't know what the running time on 'Mother' is but the director has
stated that 66 minutes of it are nothing but close up shots of Jennifer
Lawrence's face.

Rex Reed is quite possibly the most incompetent and incoherent "critic"
of all time. I value his opinion on movies as much as the opinion of a
passing chipmunk.

"the director’s current personal squeeze"

"The actress’s face occupies a full 66 minutes of the 120-minute running time..."

http://observer.com/2017/09/darren-aronofsky-mother-worst-movie-of-the-year/

This is not a movie. It's a 'commercial'.

The goal of the director, is to squeeze her like guys like to squeeze girls, in all the right places.

And in resturn he promises her to make her the biggest star in the world!

How Jennifer Lawrence ask her director while he squeezes her breast?

He tells her "I'm going to make you the biggest star in the world" and then he explans How he will do it,
while he is squeezeing her in all the right places....(it's his personal squeeze)

He tells her (while he is drooling all over her)...

'I'm going to occupy your face on the screen throughout most of the movie, (at least 66 minutes).
This will leave a lasting impression on the audience mind that they will always remember. It is like
a Brand, the Jennifer Lawrence stamped on their brain. A 66 minute commercial of your face!

Then she ask while he is pulling down her panties and drooling all over her breast, how does that make me a bigger star
than??? (Cause Jennifer Lawrence is only with him because actresses hook up with producers/directors to get more work in movies)

He tells her...'It is very complex to explain but the reason why people go to movies is to see a big face on the screen.'

But she persist with her questions because (that's all an actress is interested in, herself) , ask what does the big face
on the screen does to them?

He tells her while he is drooling on her high heels...

"The title of the movie is "Mother"! (He's getting bothered will all this talking about showbusiness because he running out of drool!)

She sez, "What does that mean, The title of the movie is "Mother"????

He tells her (as he puts a pillow on her face)..."Every guy loves their Mother. The face a baby sees that makes him the happiest is
seeing the big face of his Mother looking at him. So, when they see your face on the screen...

Your drooling ends.
You're done with me.
You've had your fun.
You're spent.

NOW GO MAKE THAT FUCKIN MOVIE YOU PERVERT!!!

The Jennifer Lawrence asks the drooling director..."What the next movie going to be about?"

That one I'm going to have to tie you up...

it's what every mother tells her son to stay away from.

I think maybe the big difference between our positions is that in most
cases -- not all; think THE SIXTH SENSE -- I don't care if prior to
experiencing a story I have a general, even if possibly mistaken, idea
of how it will play out. Vague hints are a factor to be sure, but often
not crucial to my enjoyment. One seldom encounters a THE SIXTH SENSE.

And sometimes, as with MOTHER, full advance knowledge makes me a happy
camper. THE HUNT? I can only wish. <grumbleitwasallyourfaultgrumble>

Yeah, for me the direr risk is seeing a movie I hate hate hate when the
experience could have been avoided with just a little tiny itsy bitsy
bit of advance warning. That's all I'd processed about MOTHER, but it
was enough to send me to the Wikipedia plot summary which satisfied for
all time any temptation I might have had to have a look. There are lots
of movies out there that I'll enjoy, or at the very least won't make me
regret spending time with them. Bring on the considerate reviews.

Just to be clear, *my* position is that you can have a position
different from mine (of course). Materially, though, my biggest dread
in watching a movie is boredom -- which I experience whenever I know
where a movie is going and it thinks I don't. But I can't think of any
movies I've turned off for their subject matter, even when unpleasant
(though Shirley there must be a couple). However, I confess a separate
component to my hate for spoiling: I think it's lazy, destructive
pandering. But, hell, everybody needs to feel smug about something...

I wouldn't dream of spoiling MOTHER for you by telling you what it is

matter. It's just...well I can't say, can I?

Rex Reed is still an idiot. He starts of by insulting Requiem For Dream
and Black Swan, exposing him as a moron with no taste.
He is less of an idiot then Rex Reed, but not by much.

(Not that I am defending Mother, I've not seen it, but the opinions of
these two would not sway me one iota).

I'd certainly nominate him. I think of the ones who are somewhat well
known or recognized, he's in like Flynn.

Sadly, he is not just a bad reviewer with no taste, but also a worthless
one. With some critics you can tell if the movie is good despite their
panning it, or tell if a movie is bad despite their praise. Not so with
Rex Reed who is so inconsistent and inane in what he says that the
possibility he's nothing more than a poorly done AI-bot seems
unreasonably high.
