who would win? for obsolete programs the twins seem to be superior to agents.

Well, the twins seemed to have had only one life. If you
kill an agent though, he'll just hop into the nearest
available body. So the agents win.

Agents hit with power. Twins dress nice.

Peace!

I'm not sure the twins are dead.

IMDB has Adrian and Neil Raymont in the cast list for Revolutions as Twin 1
and Twin 2.

They were definitely shown going immaterial as the shockwave
carried them skyward.

For what it's worth, "Enter the Matrix" has a level where you get
chased by the Twins, they call that level "Cain and Abel". Even though
they are listed as Twins 2 and 1 in the Reloaded credits, presumably
they have real names, just as "The Kid" is Matt (or mike) Popper in
the Animatrix.

I would think the rogue programs would be pretty effective against
Agents, which is probably why the Merovingian keeps them around. They
probably can not be "possessed" and would be immune to their weapons.

Just to clarify, "Cain and Abel" is not a reference to the twins. It's a
reference to the werewolf guys. We see them briefly in the film, and
Persephone kills one of them with a silver bullet.

The twins have no names, other than Twin 1 and Twin 2.

As for why the Merovingian keeps them around, he says it himself in
Reloaded: "They are notoriously hard to kill."
