Mariah Carrey is the single worst actress ever to be allowed to make a
motion picture. I have seen (much) better actresses in elementary school
productions. What a skank.

Two words.

Tanya Roberts.

Carey's actually tolerable in Wise Girls.

I saw "Glitter" about two months ago; it wasn't *THAT* bad as people were

Hmm, didn't know Mariah Carey fans were anti-Semites. How they could assume
that some phony Usenet name was a Jew I don't know but hey what do you
expect from someone who worships a two bit hussey.

I actually quite liked it... it was kitschy... hardly an Oscar winning
performance, but it was OK.

Two more words
Rosie O'Donnell.
Neither one of these "actresses" should be allowed on a movie set

Nah, I'd prefer not to see her AND not see her sing (if you call that
caterwauling singing).

You should watch Wisegirls. I watched it with 4 friends who hate Mariah and
they couldn't believe how great she was. It's a wondeful movie.

haha exactly.

To be honest, I think that it was intended to be a sort of.... I
dunno... ironic, kitschy etc, and I dont think most people were with
it. I have only seen it once, made cracks all through it... but I
think it was sort of meant to be that way... I hope? Did I read
somewhere that the original script was nothing liek the film and it
was butchered?

Except for A League of Their Own, I would agree about Madonna and
Rosie. As part of that larger cast, they were just fine. No one should
give either of them a leading role though. (Although maybe they need
someone like Penny Marshall to keep them in line even in smaller
roles.)

I thought O'Donnell was the worst thing in that otherwise very good
and entertaining movie. Somebody apparently thought her little quips
and comments were funny, but to me they were akin to fingernails on a
chalk board. However, that was one of the few times Madonna didn't
embarrass herself completely trying to be an actress.

That's the standard come back for a bomb.
"It was supposed to be like that!"
I think Mariah and company were sincere.
Just like Madonna and company were sincere over "Swept Away".
Which makes it all the more embarrasssing.
Oh, well you can't have everything.
At least Mariah can sing. (Over sings but hey, it's still singing).

So says you. Personally, her screeching doesn't constitute singing in my

Not true! What they both don't understand is that neither one of them can
carry a movie.
But put them as part of an ensemble cast with a competent director,
screenwritier, etc.
and they're pretty ok. "Desperately Seeking Susan", "A League of their
Own", "Beautiful Girls".

"Pretty ok"? Oh come on! Quit being so nice and call it like it is.
They're awful actresses and Unbound is right, they shouldn't be allowed to
come with in a hundred yards or a movie set or a theatrical play/musical
either.

I agree that they both did their best acting work in "A League of Their Own",
because they had smaller supporting roles. But neither of them can act their
way out of a bag IMO. And whose idea was it to make that movie "Exit to Eden"
where Rosie was dressed up in a leather dominatrix outfit? My eyes were
permanently damaged from briefly viewing that hideous image when changing
channels.

Of course Madonna had the advantage in that one of playing a character that
was either somewhat like herself or like people she knew as a struggling
