Anyone help me find some films that have shown a co uple playing footsie under
table? It's for a film project I'm working on called oddities in film. I've
got a few other topics to research as well. Any suggestions on the footsie
scenes is appreciated.

Thanks

Charlene

Try Truffaut's classic "Jules and Jim" (1961) for one of the more famous
"footsie" scenes.

The only one that comes to mind is the War of the Roses. There is a
footsie scene with Danny DeVito. Tina

Not a movie, but the British TV mini-series "Lipstick on Your Collar," written
by Dennis Potter, has a scene where two characters (Ewan McGregor & Louise
Germaine) see each other on the street and then break into an elaborate musical
number to the song "Love Is Strange." As they dance and sing (or, rather,
lip-sync), they pass a series of billboards chronicling their fantasy
relationship in comic-strip form. On one of these billboards, they're shown
having dinner, and an inset panel shows them playing footsies (complete with an
arrow-pointing word balloon exclaiming "Footsies!") under the table.

The footsie scene from 'booty call' was definitely the funniest scene in the
entire movie. I was so overcome with mirth that popcorn flew from my mouth
like shrapnel.

If you want to reach way back to 1941, there is a footsie scene in the first few
minutes of "A Woman's Face" (directed by George Cukor, starring Joan Crawford,
Melvyn Douglas and Conrad Veidt). The characters playing footsie under the table
are Melvyn Douglas's wife and her lover who are observed and commented on by
Veidt's character.

In "Goodbye, Columbus," Ali McGraw plays "footsie" (or maybe "legsie" would
be a more correct term!) with Richard Benjamin while having dinner at her
wealthy parents' home.

So she's working on a film project, and asks a question
in this forum. Fifteen years later she gets an answer
in dyslexic form.
