I thought so too, and said so. But a guy on CompuServe told me the
"LOTM" score was on the trailer for "Legends of the Fall." So I don't
think "RR" uses it too.

I think that music was used in almost every "dramatic" trailer -

A Few Good Men and Clear and Present Danger come to mind.

The trailer I saw of "Rob Roy" also used some music from "The Last
Of The Mohicans". The TV spot I saw of "Rob Roy" does not, however.

Thanks for clarifying this. I thought the trailer used the theme from
"LOTM" and that's appropriate because there are several parallels
between the films:

-- both show a relatively primitive culture in which family relationships
are strong dominated by cynical sophisticated foreigners.

-- both open with the hero tracking someone/something through the
landscape.

-- both depict a strong central figure who straddles both worlds (high
and low) but who identifies with the more primitive group.

-- passionate central love story becomes the crux for the larger story

-- panoramic landscape, sublime vistas dwarfing man

THere are diferences too! But that's another post.

I think I already posted this, but... ROB ROY is the umpteenth film to
use music from the film COME SEE THE PARADISE in it's trailor. You've
heard it everywhere (A FEW GOOD MEN, CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER come to
mind); pray you don't here it *again* anytime soon...
