Judi Dench plays a psycho lesbian in "Notes on a Scandal"

Notes on a scandal is this mostly entertaining film about a
friendship/arrangement between two teachers in middle school or high
school somewhere in the UK.

Cate Blanchett plays the object of Judi Dench's psycho lesbian lust.
Blanchett is a married woman with a disabled child and a precocious
teenage girl. Her husband is an older man played by Bill Nighy.

Blanchett is the new teacher at a high/middle school in the UK. She
fumbles about until she is taken on the wing of Judi Dench who shows her
the ropes.

Initially Dench doesn;t like her because the other teachers pay her too
much attention when she arrives but as Dench is able to step in and play
the "hero" role to Blanchett a friendship soon forms.

Dench learns of Blanchet's dirty little secret and uses it to manipulate
Blanchett and to take their friendship to another level.

Blanchett is not interested in munching on carpets and tells Dench so.
Dench then proceeds to wreck Blanchett's world.

This was an entertaining movie with interesting characters and a solid
story. The pace could have been better but the movie was overall quite
enjoyable.
